There is a story behind that song... This was Eurovision 2015 and she represented Russia. Russia was bashed in the european medias endlessly because they annexed Crimea during the Ukraine revolt. Polina had to endure media bashing like crazy, she was the target of constant killing articles in the media. During the contest (which is live) the public got completely engaged with her resulting in her complete breakdown at the end of the song. After that most of the judges followed political line and downvoted her but some have expressed their total shame and upvoted her. At the end she finished 2nd. I cannot remember having witnessed a more shameful competition in my life. That girl is a fighter singer, she never backs down. She proves it another time in episode 10 of The Singer 2019 when she performed an astonishing dance/singing song with a major back injury... you can barely notice she's fighting pain during the performance but she had to be helped to walk out of the stage at the song's end, she could not even walk. I have full respect for the girl.

я помню, как переживала за Полину на том Евровидение - это было тогда, когда появилась ненависть к России, но Полина такая милая и нежная, как Золушка, сложно было её ненавидеть. Но даже во время исполнения видно, как ей страшно, какая ответственность лежит на ней. Только её профессионализм и потрясающий, мощный голос помог ей быть одной из лучших!
