Paul Hart, this is what russian musical and movie industry basically is. You just don't express "wrong" political views, or your career might be over. My own favourite from this year is Belgium. This year had one of the better Estonian entries as well. 2015 in general was a great year. Whenever Russia got points the audience booed and at some point Polina was seen crying. This was the first year Eurovision had anti-boo technology used, since they anticipated something like this and Russia had been booed before.
@rafadydkiemmacha75436 жыл бұрын
ankhefenra booing a contestant because of her country is really sad. It’s good to show disagreement towards Russia, but not this way, especially that Polina deserved all points.

Politics, man. I think that’s why she didn’t win. This song totally had the potential and Moscow would’ve gladly hosted in 2016, should they have won. Russia and the whole Crimea situation led to Ukraine pulling out in 2015, of course, coming back and winning in 2016 with Jamala. All of that caused some backlash in Vienna and even in Copenhagen the year before. The Tolmachevy Sisters got booed in 2014, and still came in 7th. This led the EBU to install “anti-booing” technology for Vienna, especially for Russia. There’s videos by viewers of Polina audibly getting booed. Besides that, I think Polina would’ve won in 2015.

I would say she didn't have chance - because she was from Russia. Sweden and Italy killed it, but at least she would have some chances to win - it all depended on how viewers were feeling that day. Her staging was also pretty ok with the lights on dress so I could see even Jury change their minds for her if it wasn't Russia.

Honestly, 2015 was pretty strong, one song better than another. Voted "Grande amore" (from Russia), but Sweeden deserved this for sure. Had a lot of songs this year in play list: Norway, Estonia, Italy, Georgia, Spain, Latvia. Norway got some professional prize inside Eurovision too.

Take into account that in 2016 the three countruies on the top of people voting were Russia, Ukraine and POLAND - that was tha first situation when country was totally UNDERRATED by jury, it was last as far as i remember after jury voting and then it was thrird in televoting and totally we finshed eight. It was Michał Szpak "Coulours of your life" - i think the biggest points gap so far on eurovision

2015 was the strongest year of ESC that I can remember. All the songs in top 5 could easily have won another year, but the competition was just SO hard! Italy was the true winner though, they should have won. And this comes from a Swedish person. Måns was really good, but Italy was better. I also loved Norway's entry, which placed 9th. You should do a reaction video to all the entries that year, maybe react to a "all entries recap" or something like that. My favorites were Norway, Italy, Australia, Belgium and Austria. Austria was actually really good but came second to last, even though they were the hosts!

As much as I like Mans and "Heroes," this song without a doubt should have won. Her voice, the emotion, and the performance were amazing. Russia has finished in the Top 3 so many times in the last few years. Some of the songs, like this one, have such a global message. I hate to say it, but it really makes me wonder how much the political state of Russia has to do with keepinsome of these amazing songs from winning, not so much from the juries, but more with the televoting.

The thing is, we don’t have any national pre-Eurovision contest, so Russians can’t really influence the federal channel decision. Sometimes it chooses great talents (Gagarina, Lazarev) but sometimes fails (Samoylova performance this year, for instance). I wonder we had a chance to choose a talent to represent our country on this contest. By the way, I was quite shocked that Sweden had beaten Russia that year. But considering the political situation in the world, I guess Russia has no chance of winning even with such a great singer as Polina :( Greetings from Russia! 🇷🇺

She was robbed of the victory. End of story. A million voices is one of the best entries in the history of Eurovision. The song has a beautiful message and unites the world. The fact she lost to Sweden, that had a song that really didn't stand out as the majority of the world doesn't even remember the song today, proves that Eurovision lost sight of what it used to be and is all about politics these days. The music doesn't matter anymore. And that's a shame, because it's brilliant songs like these that need to be victorious and celebrated. My all time favorite Eurovision song is Love shine a light by Katrina and the Waves, A million voices is close second.

I am proud to be Russian! And referendum in cCrimea in 2015 showed that 98% of Crimeans voted to be a part of Russia. That was the good will of Crimean people. We should respect people's will! In 2015 and 2016 (maybe to mitigate the bad publicity of the Ukrainian war and Crimean annexation), Russia really stepped up their game and chose internally the biggest stars they currently had: Polina Gagarina and Sergey Lazarev. The result was, obviously, great. Had they kept the spirit of good sportsmanship and hard work, who knows, they would have won last year in Kyiv or in Lisbon.
