This must be Rocio Durcal's week. She had impressive vocals. This song doesn't demand much of it. React to Costumbres, La Gata bajo la lluvia, La muerte del Palomo. Just like Linda Ronstadt, she sang every genre and excelled in them. Aldo, youth could react to her first songs in movies like Volver a verte, Mas bonita que ninguna, which was features in that Oscar movie winner, Roma. Btw, she didn't learn to sing from neither Camilo or Juan Gabriel, but both were het "compadres".

Sir, with all due respect, I don't know what you heard: the recording from your perspective may have sounded fine but, as I commented to Beth, she sounded okay and I could sort of hear the instrumental part but the lady sounded as if she was singing through.water. As you should be able to read in the reply to my comment, I was not the only person to experience this problem.

"Amor eterno (eternal love)" is a must in every burial and day of the dead ones. Leyend says that Juan Gabriel wrote it to Rocío by a son of her who died. Juan Gabriel was allways reluctant to sing it. All mariachis know it. Pretty much every singer in Mexico (at least) has it in their albums, every style, every genre, every genre band or group, they have it. Even a classic guitar version (Julio César Oliva) is over here. A cornerstone in mexican music

Hello Beth! Please react to Soda Stereo - Persiana Americana (En Vivo). It's a song from one of the most influential and innovative bands that totally changed the aproach to rock music in Latin America! There will be a concert next year called "Gracias Totales" in honour of their lead singer Gustavo Cerati, who sadly passed away in 2014. Also Coldplay made a cover for one of their songs (De música ligera) if you want to hear it. I hope you enjoy their music as much as I do!

Just FYI, None of Rocio Durcal's children die from the accident. Her eldest daughter Carmen de Las Heras is an actress and still lives in Madrid. Other daughter Shalia is actively singing and acting and currently resides in Texas with her husband. Her son is in Europe. This song is Juan Gabriel's masterpiece wrote mourning for his deceased mother. So genuine emotions that Rocio Durcal presented in this particular concert in Mexico City was possibly due to in memory of her father who passed away in early 1980s. In one of her TV documentary, Rocio Durcal reveals that her father passing was the saddest day of her lifeline. Could you please do a critic for one of her ballad "De Que Estoy Hecha" from back catalogue. She was my biggest idol not only performing Mariachi music in concert but also ranchera, Spanish pop and love ballad. She was the one who introduced Mexican music to Spain. Spaniard starts listening to Mexican music because of Rocio Durcal.

I don't know where she got that information. Some Juan Gabriel or Camilo fan. When she was discovered, she was immediately sent to an arts Academy to be trained in everything, singing, acting, dancing for almost a year so she could be ready to film her first movie. Her teachers were the best from Madrid. Singer Raphael was also a student there.

Juan Gabriel wrote this song for Rocio, when she lost her young song, when her son drowned in the beaches of Acapulco. That's why in the lyrics it says: "I have suffered so much from your absence, since that day I have not been happy. And even though my conscience is tranquil, I know I could have done more for you. Dark solace I am living. The same solace of your sepulchre. You are the love of which I have, the saddest memory from Acapulco"

Her first job wasn't with Camilo Sexto nor Juan Gabriel. She was already a well known star in Spain and Latin America by herself (in fact a child star that had a couple of movies done already). She started her career far before Camilo Sesto did. After marrying and having a child, she took a break from her career. When she returned, was when she associated with Camilo Sesto and Juan Gabriel. These associations made her a great star at Latin America, so she moved to México, specializing then in Rancheras, a typical mexican style (this song is a typical example of ranchera). And, her artistical name was really changed, but what was changed was her last name, Dúrcal, a little town from the province of Granada, in Andalusia. The first (artistical) name Rocío (with stress in the I, translation Dew) was given to her by her grandad, for her freshness and spontaneity.

I want to commend you Beth for commenting on this artist which us Hispanics consider to be one of our great ones. I personally get in a trance with I hear this women's voice. Her voice alone takes you through her life experiences. Let alone the power behind those lyrics. Which you are correct.. They were also written by the the late and one of the greats. Juan Gabriel.. These two artists are the epitome of what we consider the pride of our Spanish roots. Even though she wasn't Mexican her self but hailed from Spain. Us Mexicans loved her and her music so much that we considered her one of our very own. Thank you for being open minded and actually taking the time to listen to greatness and the some of the best that comes from us. Thank you ...

I know you are a vocal coach, but, when you react to voices like latino or Hispanic voices, you have to take in consideration of whom wrote the song or what they mean it, in a lyrics context. You should listen to the original song Rocio Durcal sings "Amor Eterno" but the song belongs to Juan Gabriel, he sings the song him self. Please listen to him and get the lyrics translate to understand better not only the music, the lyrics but the meaning of the original song. You will be surprised what voice, lyrics and music can do together in the interpretation of a truly talented and blessed human being. Juan Gabriel was, is and will be a beautiful and authentic soul with the must beautiful and talented way of communicating feelings and emotions to the must forgotten soul.
