I saw Vicente "Chente" Fernandez at the Cow Palace in South San Francisco once. And he did that. Chente put the microphone down at his side and was singing at the top of his lungs. Somehow you could still hear his voice throughout the auditorium. And, on top of that, fans were passing Chente hard liquor bottles, from which he took great big swigs and just kept singing. That was October 29, 2000. Banda El Recodo opened up for him. I guess he wanted to show that he still had it.

Beth, you know what he shouts at the middle of the song? He shouts: “one can also sing because of pain, when you cannot cry anymore” And the song basically says that even though we has cheated by his beloved one; even though that he tells everybody how much he hates her for that, “acá entre nos” (between you and I) “I still love you and will always do”. A song full of feelings, full of love and pain. Singed by a man that is feeling every word of it. And that’s what happens when you combine passion, master in vocal technique and an interpretation on which the singer feels every word he sings. Wow.

The bit about Pedro Infante wasn't wrong, but in terms of "influence," training that he got from Felipe Arriaga during his no-record-contract years shaped his vocal style more. Arriaga's also worth checking out... and the way both of them use dynamics comes orig. from Javier Solis; Arriaga's father led the mariachi that backed Solis in the late 50s. (Combination of fact and opinion, sorry.)

@josevaldivia63344 жыл бұрын
In this particular song & most Vicente's songs, the facial expressions right along with the duel powerful/gentle vocals is key to watch for in Chente. This song lyrics is about betrayal & reminiscing of a love. Vicente is one of the few artist to have mastered the art of story telling in those one minute songs. In this song he shows the anger for his love's betrayal & for leaving him. He then softens up expressing with those soft & gentle vocals that he still love's her & reminisces for it all, at one point in this song he even stops singing & yells his discontent. The master Chente allows us to joint him reminiscing with our own betrayals & our own lost loves in most every song. Let us not forget our friend & foe Don Jose Cuervo in our pitiful moments of reminiscing. If you think about it Vicente is a male's version of Adele.

Sin falta te respeto tío. Debería de aver sido “my mom KNEW him as a teenager. He used to sing with just HIS GUITAR, and talent...” the last part I don’t understand. Just a word of advice as I said. I mean absolutely no disrespect. My Spanish isn’t all that good either.

She should have used the other video where he literally drops the mike and you can still hear him from the background, it was incredible

We know how KZbin recommendations work, I am not into watching these kinds of videos but I came across a channel called Master of Voice. The person's name is Andy Davis and he does the same type of videos. And then those type of video recommendations started kicking in and there are a lot people reviewing the same artists and songs that those artists sing. That is very strange. Masters of Voice is a good channel and you can see the creator's passion.

Oh wow. I've heard this song hundreds of times and sang it with friends along with tequila shots, but your tidbit information pauses just makes me appreciate this song that much more. Thank you.
