I was watching from Mexico when I was like 10 years old and I can literally remember all of it, specially cuz my mom was super exited and when when she heard the first note she said (almost yelling) “OMG WAIT, THE SPICE GIRLS, THEY HAVENT BEEN TOGETHER IN YEARS” and she even came to the living room (I was watching the closing ceremony alone) and started dancing 💃🏻 By that time I only knew like 1 or 2 of their songs and it’s the performance that made me a fan! Absolutely ICONIC 🤩

I feel the GERI that was seen here was the GERI from the 90s!! Energy, Loud, Wild!! Unfortunately for the 2019 Reunion Tour, that GERI was gone and was more Posh, Sophisticated And 'Just there to be there' kind of thing. Probably the last time the band was complete and at its best in the later years.

Totally agree. She’s become stiff and boring and lacked the energy that made her ginger. I felt like she was taking posh’s role since Victoria wasn’t there and it didn’t work. I was quite disappointed in this past reunion tour.

I cried watching this after so many years of missing them! Would it be possible for you to react to the Spice Girls live at Earl's Court 1999? They were at their best vocally and it would be interesting to know what you think. Viva Forever would be a good pick, but also Say You'll Be There, Something Kinda Funny or Too Much.

They do sing live 90% of the time, except from "lalalalala" intro on SUYL. Wannabe chorus and SUYL first part was not live on tv but if you check amateur videos you can tell the sound speaker in the stadium was live most part of it. They had all the mics on all the time. Epic and fantastic performance, they must felt very proud!

What an iconic performance! I think it was the most tweeted about moment in the closing of the olympics. It always bugs me how they only made two albums as a 5 piece and only one as a 4 pc band and still have all those iconic songs. They did all this in 3 years in the limelight as five!

What I noticed with the olympics performance is that during videos shot by the crowd you can actually hear the girls a lot more. The backing track is way louder on the tv broadcasts.

Greetings from Canada. I also have very few recordings left on my PVR. London's 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony is one that won't be erased. It still blows me away on many levels. Hi Georgina, I'm glad to see you're doing good. I'm happy you decided to pick another spice girls performance. There was probably a pre-recorded track for the choruses, just in order to better support their voices I guess, and they sang over it. I don't think Geri forgot to sing her part (she only sings the word "flamenco"). And I love Victoria when she plays her posh "moody" Spice character, there is something funny about it. However I think this is their most exciting performance ever.

Hi it's not a pre-recorded track for the singing it's a normal backing track. They say 90% of this song. The lalalala part for spice up your life is perfect backing and they did the rest live. The bridge part where they say the dances is backing and they do the vocals live as it says the 5 solo lines. Mel C belted out SPICE UP YOUR LIFE FAST X3 and that made this version so AWESOME!!! ❤

I saw The Return of the Spice Girls at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on Dec 7, 2007. One of the best nights of my life. The whole show was live. They were all great. During Let Love Lead The Way I screamed in horror as Emma came out and did Vicki's part and she didn't come out until the end of the song. That's when I realized how much of vocal work Emma does. She does harmony on all the girls solos in ballads, no one does melody for her. And shes the swing and knows all the parts in case what they said happened to Victoria that night. The zipper on the corset broke as she was putting it on and they had to sew it in. Wannabe was live the beginning of Spice Up Your life was tracked but I think almost all the acts were that night

My favorite is “Stop” because my older cousin made up dance routines for my sister and me to Spice Girls songs and mine was to “Stop”. I love the Olympics performance, but The Victoria’s Secret Fashion show is up there as well. I think it was right before they went on tour in 2007 so it would have been the first time they had performed together since Geri left.

🌟 I requested this 1st a year ago while you were just starting out 😃😀😄✌ The Spice girls hit #1 on iTunes after this and their albums were in the top 10 and 1 in the top 20. Hugely impressive. They take the crown 👑 whenever they want it. Paramount pictures is said to be working on an animation movie! This performance sounds and looks great! ❤ Put out a new album and release the unreleased songs please. Especially W.o.m.a.n.
