These songs are written from experience..no doubt. (How did she not realise it was a cadaver search for a body?! Twice the dogs began to smell her,beths off for meditation to rammstein or puddle of mudd!)

Of all the great rock singers of the 90's (and there were tons), I think Scott was the most overlooked/underrated. Not many could hang with him vocally.

I don’t think he was overlooked honestly. Everyone still recognizes his greatness… Maybe Kurt Cobain was in the spotlight, mostly by the pop mainstream, but the real grunge/rock fans recognized him.

I don’t know any other singers in that time period who could go from his work in rock n roll, jazz, pop, electro, easy listening…to doing a completely legit Christmas album. His versatility set him apart… and put him back in a different league, that no one has articulated publicly. The man was one of a kind

@@Ratbiker48 - Cornell definitely had a wide range. But, he tended to use the echo of his mouth at times. I counted 9 variations in his voice {that includes the "echo"}, and counted 16 variations for Weiland. Weiland was also able to flip through registries with an impressive ease.

Thanks Beth that was a really interesting take on a great tune. The thing about Scott is, when he went on to front Velvet Revolver, he sounded at times like a different singer. Falling to Pieces spring to mind, which is pretty emotional when you know Scott's back story.

Check him out with the remaining members of The Doors singing like Jim Morrison. Crushed it. Only guy that could cover him, which you wouldn't think till you hear it. He could basically sing anything and mimic alot of artists if he stepped in. Bowie, Morrison, etc. I'm not suprised he has good technique here. I always assumed he did and he was more of a technical singer imo. Which is how he pulled off all those mimics when stepping on for bands.
