'Time to take her home her dizzy head is conscience laden' it's a really underappreciated lyric cos imo the girl wants to stay but he's finding the nice guy reasons to take her home. These songs are written from experience..no doubt. (How did she not realise it was a cadaver search for a body?! Twice the dogs began to smell her, beths off for meditation to rammstein or puddle of mudd!)

@Metallicaleb you're entitled to your opinion. I respectfully disagree. STP was good because the DeLeo brothers are amazing and Scott wrote great lyrics. And of the singers of that time in that genre - Staley and Cornell, too name two - he ranks a very distant last. No comparison.

@@SpectorEuro4 def hasn’t been given his due. the guy grew leaps and bounds as a singer & completely changed tones and textures at the drop of a hat. I don’t know any other singers in that time period who could go from his work in rock n roll, jazz, pop, electro, easy listening…to doing a completely legit Christmas album. His versatility set him apart… and put him back in a different league, that no one has articulated publicly. The man was one of a kind

Check him out with the remaining members of The Doors singing like Jim Morrison. Crushed it. Only guy that could cover him, which you wouldn't think till you hear it. He could basically sing anything and mimic alot of artists if he stepped in. Bowie, Morrison, etc. I'm not suprised he has good technique here. I always assumed he did and he was more of a technical singer imo. Which is how he pulled off all those mimics when stepping on for bands.

I laughed at the imagery. "I love the drums, I think thats why I feel its so relaxing. I wish they could just play behind me as I walk down the street."

Rest In Peace,Scott... Rest In Music! Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland... even Michael Hutchance and, obviously, Jeff Buckley! The best voices of an entire generation, if not among the best ever, gone too soon...

Kurt Cobain and Shannon Hoon, too… Way too many of the great grunge-era vocalists are gone, primarily because of hard drugs like heroin. While members of bands like The Rolling Stones and Mötley Crüe are still alive and well…

1995 - about a year after Purple came out. 10 year old me nabbed that CD off my dad's collection and listened to it while doing homework. Been a huge fan of STP ever since. This particular song is still one of my favorites by them.
