It's fun to see people who, despite not having any background knowledge about what happened, still feeling the genuine emotions and story attached to this song+++ i really REALLY appreciate it that you're appreciating the song as a normal listener and a professional.

"i'm proud of this generation for making it through a 10-minute song... we're on the right track" THANK YOU! after all is said and done, that's mainly what taylor swift is really proud of. people focusing on her ability to tell a story that keeps people engaged. the fact that that will be her legacy gives me goosebumps all over.
@uhmokay59953 жыл бұрын
I think what most people don't credit Taylor for is that her voice sounds so UNIQUE. Unlike other artists voice (who are also amazing, btw) that can be copied by MANY easily. While Taylor, i literally cannot name anyone who sounds just like her. Sure, some could copy her style but you can tell TELL that that's not her voice because u cannot mistake Taylor's voice to anyone. Y'all get what I'm saying?
@chandininayak6463 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you. The uniqueness in her voice is surprisingly amazing. Now that you have mentioned that, I haven't come across any cover or anyone in general who sounds like her while singing. And it's also true that many covers of different artists somehow sounds like them but hers is so RED that no other shade matches.
@MarkFreedmanNY3 жыл бұрын
Yep. Because she feels what she sings. And she’s not afraid to pour it all out there.

Exactly!!! She's got a smaller vocal range but makes complete use of it in such a unique way!!! People widely believe that she's a weak vocalist, which is just so wrong cause her high notes, low notes, runs are just soo good and always on point

Taylor's range is actually quite massive, her range is F#2 - G5/G#5 (A5) - D6/E6 (F6) - (Bb6) and she's light-lyric soprano, it's extremely impressive that soprano can sing that low (that's male range, even mezzo's would had problem to hit it) and it wasn't vocal fry or pitched, it was really her voice. Even without exclamations is her range 3 octaves and 5 notes. I definitely agree with you, it's not about singing high notes, but translate emotions throughout your voice and move people with it, tell a story with your voice and Taylor is in this even better than most vocal legends. She always feeling what she's singing and has the most angelic voice. She improved massively over the years, i always thought that Taylor had and still has a lot potential, she's now amazing singer, just imagine if she had a vision of herself as a powerful vocalist from begin. Also Taylor's technique is not that terrible how people claim, her supported range is actually Eb3 - C5/C#5 (D5 - few of her D5s sounded supported, but they could've been just very open) and her consistent is right now around F3 - Bb4. Taylor is surprisingly amazing in growls, her growls are always good placed and she add to them intentional rasp and distorion, she's amazing at transitions. And even though she's not riffing or do runs often, from her skills and how easy for her were her simple runs, i bet she can do much better, so i think she also has decent agility, hope she'll use it more in future.
@Eric_The_Eccentric3 жыл бұрын
Dude, you touched on a subject that's very close to my heart when it comes to music. When I see an artist, I focus on what they're good at and what sets them apart, instead of what they cannot do. Taylor's style of singing puts me in her headspace as the song goes on. I hang on to her every words and let her take me on a journey. Don't get me wrong. I respect and admire artists who can belt high notes and do vocal runs effortlessly. But for me, there's nothing like listening to an artist who uses unfiltered vocal delivery as an artistic choice to mirror the raw emotions attached to every word. Something I like to call "her perfect imperfections" Taylor is no Mariah, Adele, Beyonce or Ariana. She never claimed to be one too. She has always been open about the fact that songwriting is her strength. But she worked hard, improved her singing and built an empire with her pen. To her, the most important thing has always been doing better than her previous self. It's never about surpassing her peers. Remember how an idiot quoted "everything Britney Spears does, Taylor does it better" in an article or interview? (can't remember the source) Taylor got dragged by everyone on social media for it while she never even made that claim. People accuse her of copying other artists like Lana and Britney. But they leave out the fact that Taylor herself has been open about how these artists inspired her to make music. It's no secret. So, petty people will always bring up her weakness to undermine her success and they're not going to stop it anytime soon. To the cynical world, authenticity is fake and talent is measured by unfair comparisons, especially pitting women against each other. So, I'm just gonna shake it off because shade never made her less talented. And snakes and stones never broke her bones. So...... Yeah

Indeed Mr. Burke. She really is a story teller. Narrating the story in a 10 minute song that everyone can listen to even for a whole day. Taylor Swift's way of singing caught everyone's heart, making us felt the emotions in the song like it is us experiencing the story. Not everyone can do what she can as a singer.

@Shub Vlogs first of all your just disgusting, try to learn manners and learn how to respond to strangers on internet But anyways Her voice is far from being strong And there's nothing unique about it , it's just a soft and calm voice that I enjoy hearing, But it's not a voice that you will particularly remember That's what I meant When you listen to Barbara Streisand Whitney Houston Celine dion Mariah Carey Patti label Aretha Franklin Ariana grande Adele These are true powerhouses Swift isn't even in that category of great singers and everyone knows it don't know why you're mad about it And you're the one who needs to check his musical taste I enjoy Taylor for her writing skills And she even said it she doesn't consider herself a singer but a songwriter in the first place Gezzzzz

in my opinion, even though Taylor goes specific on her songs we still take those specifics and "mentally" change them to our narrative. for example she talks about a scarf that he kept in someone else's case it could be a CD that the person kept so the feeling and the recognition of the SITUATION is still there and you STILL get the feeling of "is she writing about my life?" even if the objects, people or places are different.
@artsyputsy3 жыл бұрын
I’ve been a swiftie since fearless era and watching her grow as an artist, songwriter and singer has been one of the best joy in my life. Her voice matured so much. Not just technically but also her choices in singing. She knows how to use her voice to create the most impact for the lyrics and message she want to deliver. I’ve heard her sing in crazy high notes in reputation and crazy low notes in folklore/evermore era. She can hit them all. And sometimes you don’t even realize how big her range is until you try to sing it yourself. And please react to more Taylor’s live performances. Especially from reputation era forward.

I love that you pointed out how important storytelling is in singing over vocal range. this is huge reason why I dont connect to Adele or Ariana grande. they have beautiful vocals but I hear less storytelling and more vocal technique than anything. and I love how Taylor uses her for storytelling, as a second device and her emotion hits so much harder cuz of this
