The problem with their dancing is that they try to accommodate Una’s lack of dancing skill but also try to show off Frankie’s dancing. Their choreographer just really wasn’t that good for them.
@itschrispretorius4 жыл бұрын
its true. their choreographer was some middle-aged blonde lady whos name i cant remember :/ not to bash the age group, but they certainly needed someone young n fresh to accommodate everyone.

'Gentleman' affectively ruined them. Having just got number 1 with 'what about us' it was always important to release another amazing song. 'Gentleman' just wasnt it. 'Not giving up' was way better but didn't chart as highly mainly I'd say due to 'gentleman' being so dire. If it was the other way around, who knows what would happened. In my personal opinion, 'gentleman' shouldn't have been a single, it should've been 'Wildfire'.

Rochelle, to me, is the strongest vocalist.. or at least ended up being the best one over time. Vanessa had lots of issues with her vocal cords but had tons of natural abilities. I'm a singer myself.. and it always seemed that Rochelle was very consistent and a strong voice for the girls.
@obibraxton22322 жыл бұрын
Good shout I think Vanessa deffo was the lead singer so always having to be the one singing most of time put strain on her voice I’d say Rochelle was second best thus becoming the most consistent overall although will point out I love Una’s tone too.
@greghayes81582 жыл бұрын
Not one of you are singers. If you had any idea, you would know that it’s tracked. And rochelle has the most basic voice that can’t do anything. It’s safe and basic. The only two that can sing are una and Vanessa. And don’t listen to this ‘vocal coach’ she can’t even sing lol she’s making comments about dancing lol have you watched her perform lol

LOL that last song was written by an American songwriter called Priscilla Renea... and the men were chosen by the writer (apparently they weren’t allowed to change them). Kinda explains why the whole song ended up so cringey and random. American written songs are so weird for UK girl bands... I think exactly the same about little mix! They got WAY too Americanised!
@mama4561004 жыл бұрын
No wonder I enjoyed some aspects of that songs. It was all good until they started naming names and chanting about the 90s

I’m an American and I think that was way too weird and random. Throwing out the most random people’s names 😂
Their best song for dancing was definitely What About us. Their choreography was so good, its sad that they stopped doing the original choreography soon after Rochelle got pregnant. The Saturdays still are my favorite girl band but their weakness was their choreography, it was so simple but STILL didn't accommodate their singing. They could've done better training so they could perform consistently. But basically t he dynamic of The Saturdays are Rochelle, Vanessa and Una are the lead vocals in the songs while Frankie and Mollie's strengths are the harmonies and adding layers. You could appreciate their voices in their acoustic performances better and see their roles fully. One thing I didn't see were some of their better performances weren't included. Hopefully this last video will showcase their acoustic performances.

Gentleman was the song that ruined their career. I think it was released because of the big producers / writers from America. I hope you react to their acoustic performances!

You have to understand most of these performances are over 10 years ago! So yeah dancing looks cheesy and not the best but 10 years ago this was good and comparing them to current acts like blackpink etc isn’t really fair time’s have changed since the saturdays we’re out so of course it doesn’t look as good as girl groups these days!

I'm surprised you've never listened to the lyrics of "Gentleman." Although I'm not crazy about the spoken part (and I disagree, I don't think the women are actually naming off men they'd want to be with - it was just a matter of who was chosen to speak each part) the song is about how finding a gentleman is difficult in the present day as compared to the 1990s. It's not one of my favourites of theirs, but it did chart at #10 in Scotland and #14 in the UK so apparently it wasn't too bad!

It’s nice that you think that Frankie is lip syncing during Missing You when it’s live. Idk if you know this as a vocal coach but when your part of a crappy label such as polydor then your not gonna get far. They had such bad management up until 2010. They didn’t get a choice for styling or how they were going to sing. That’s what happens when you’re a newbie in the industry. The only chance they got in writing songs were album tracks such as Deeper, Move On U, Anywhere With You etc They also don’t have any control over which track gets released as the next single. I’d be surprised if they can even have a vote on it

Western bands that preformed good choreography was the Pussycat dolls and Destiny Child. Kpop groups train for 6+ plus years before they allowed in front of a camera and turn them into dancers even if they aren't naturally. Western Bands from my opinion take on the vocal approach and sway with the beat and make dancing a secondary thing. The older generation of kpop 2009 - 2012 have some amazing choreography, Girls Generation, Wonder Girls, T-ara, paved the way for Blackpink, Twice. Many kpop groups, like Girls Generation, took 1 year to practice their debut song choreography to perfect it and sync it whilst singing it live.

Are u kidding me? You're comparing cheesy asian kpop music to western music???? Are you kidding me? Sorry to say but kpop signers and bands are not know cuz o their vocals!!! They are great dancers and wear lashy hair and cloths yes but they cant really sing!!! The reason why kpop groups have tight choreo is cue they litterly have to go to kpop school! Its an academy where they get taught how to dance, sing, talk to media etc.!!!! There are videos about it and how its horrible and they are treated as slaves and worked till death, or they get replaced in the band! Kpop music will never ever produce great vocals or singers! It's just not what K-pop is! Kpop is made or screaming teenager girls and every couple years some o the boys and girls get replaced so the band stays young to cater to their audience! Horrible! Kpop music in gerneral is a bad copy of western 90s boy band/girl band music.
