I love how “Loathing” and “Defying Gravity” have dissonance to demonstrate how at odds they are, and then “For Good” has these beautiful harmonies to show how they have reconciled with each other.

Love this version - still nailing it 15 years after it opened on Broadway. My absolutely favourite part of this song is when they switch parts on "I do believe I have been changed for the better". Cheno is famed for her high soprano but I LOOOOVVEEE her low note on this line. Clever bit of writing too, showing the characters can now truly see each other's perspectives

I love this song so much! All the seniors in my high school choir sang this as our senior song the year I graduated, so it holds a special place in my heart. This song does a thing that I absolutely A-DORE about the harmonizing between Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked. Earlier in the show with any duets and harmonizing, Elphaba has the low range and Glinda gets the high one, speaking to their relative roles in the show and to each other. In For Good, they swap registers and Elphaba takes the high range and Glinda takes the low, which speaks of their character growth so much. Glinda is more grounded, more aware of the world and Elphaba has become more confident and more at ease with who she is.

Love Idina and Kristin so much. They are beautiful ladies who have absolutely stunning and magical voices and whenever you hear them sing it just stops you in your tracks. I wish everyone would stop believing the rumours that they hated each other because they love and respect each other which you can see in any interviews they had together and/or individual interviews. There is one interview where the interviewer asked Kristen straight out if the rumours were true about the fighting and hating each other and Kristen said no and that having Idina be elphaba and standing alongside her on stage that she wouldn’t have had it any other way. There is no hatred between them only respect and love and as you can see and hear in this performance of for good that they mean every lyric they sing to each other and because of all that time they worked together side by side and all the wonderful moments they shared together that they will forever remember them, be grateful for them and that they know they changed each other for the better and for good. Love you Idina and Kristen. ❤
