New Band to me and this was a solid tune! nice singing from these Danish Rockers. Volbeat are a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen in 2001. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal, and rockabilly. Their current line-up consists of vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen, guitarist Rob Caggiano, drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen.

That is NOT an arena it's a stadium with the room closed for the occasion. This is a Metallica, U2, Madonna, ACDC, Michael Jackson and The rolling stones size venue, not many Danish bands can fill this place and make a profit with us being just under 6 million people. That is a big reason why this show is special. And even though they've made a name for them selves outside Denmark, they still do these collaborations with Danish artists and like Johan singing in Danish. I'm not a diehard Volbeat fan, i dont even know any names except Michael the lead singer, but i appreciate the hell out of them, and I am proud of what they've achieved.

A friend turned me on to Volbeat about the time this concert happened. Michael Poulson has a unique sound, maybe because of his Danish language heritage, but, whatever. They sound different and I love different. The featured vocalist has a raw sound that I love, too. I dont even need to know the translation to enjoy it.

this concert was the end of their tour, the same live concert had Lars Ulrich from metallica (another Dane) join them to cover Enter Sandman. overall one of my favorite bands, certainly one of the best live acts i've ever seen. their entire catalog is filled with great music.

And the mens team then took over and has won all of those too over the last almost 20 years now, including the 3 last World Cups! Handball is huge in Denmark.

Volbeat was well introduced. Johan Olsen is the lead singer of Magtens Korridorer (Corridors of Power). They started out in the mid 90s as a punk sort band and evolved more rock'ish. He's the guest singer here and the song became a massive hit. Besides being a great singer, Johan Olsen is also a well renowned bioligist and intermediator of science stuff with an ongoing weekly podcast on the Danish National broadcasting service.

Dexter from offspring- did his Doctoral thesis for Molecular Biology in 2017 publishing a 175-page dissertation on the molecular dynamics of HIV and general virus/host interactions. Since you are reacting to VolBeat who are awesome, you should look at just about anything from Poets of the Fall, they are a rock band from Finland, and Marko their lead singer sounds as good live as he does on a studio album. Fire and Dreaming Wide Awake are two live songs that probably showcase him well, or the M/V for "The Sweet Escape"

One of the true Danish classics. Michael is the gentle elvis-like singer with the metal band. Johan is the scientist with coarse voice whose bands' lyrics are not always suitable for American audiences... if they understood Danish that is. Anyway, the lyrics of this masterpiece is fit for all audiences, even if they're bilingual. --- It's almost become the anthem of our national handball teams. Because we'll forever be best at the sport we invented and wrote the rules of... (Nudge-nudge England, don't you claim to have invented football?) And unlike the 'mericans, we let other countries try for world champions. Okay, sometimes we lose, but that just means that there's room for improvement. 😉 it's all said in jest.

I have always struggled with "Volbeat". It's the (in house) house wife "rock" band of Denmark. They are uninspiring and VERY streamline (boring). But I guess that's just me.
