His backing band is the perfect fit for him. For those who don't know: At the age of 5, Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country, Kazakhstan. He's 29 years old now. He is currently writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, he received all his degrees with honors. He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year, all while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career. Two long time favorites of his are "Michael Jackson" and "Queen".

Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality... Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is: A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures. Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing... The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details. Today, I did not miss your Live reaction! Hello Richard & Johnny, so nice to see you here today! I was up at 3:00 am (Toronto) to catch this premier in Istanbul at 12:30 pm, local time. Turned out I could not sleep at all. Thank you for taking the time for Dimash! There is a US Fan Club in US for Dimash. They Posted a huge bill board in time Square yesterday, on the eve of the premiere! He just does not get played on the Radio in the US or Canada for that matter, which is a shame. I love John Reed, I subscribe to him as well. He’s a real gem and gets weepy very easily, 😂 I’ve seen him turn on the faucets a few times listening to Dimash! I love the whole vampire theme. Doesn't the intro sound like the intro to Prince's "The Question of U" but with a slower tempo? That was right away my first impression. I love the arrangement. Within the Opera's context, the lyrics speak of two female friends going to a gently flowing river, amongst lots of flowers and birds, and peacefully enjoy the time there (very broadly summarized). So, basically, the complete opposite of dark, scary, steamy vampire dreams 😅 I wonder why this aria -of all!- was chosen to be played 🤔 but probably just because of it's sheer beauty🤷‍♀

I like that - range is nothing without skill and artistry. To me, Dimash IS music - Music In Human Form. But he's proving himself to be an excellent actor. He can act with his EYES. Many actors can deliver lines convincingly but you don't see the emotion in their eyes. In Dimash's eyes, you can see so much. There really is nothing this man can't do.

In this song, Dimash is well within the "limits" of his vocal range: Dimash 2023-Vocal range: Growls (vocal fry): G0-G1 Vocal Fry: G#1 - D2 Chest voice: E2-C#5 Mixed voice: D5-C6 Head voice: C#6 - F#6 Whistle: E7-D8 Natural range: E2 - F#6 4.2 octaves *Full range: G0 - D8 7.7 octaves To put it in context: He sings lower than bass in Opera. The lowest note is usually C2....and higher longer sustained whistle note. Total Dimash range is G0-D8. By the way, a D8 is a couple of keys past the high end of a piano. And, I believe his Vocal Fry is off the low end of the keyboard.

Dimash's co-producer on the video, Dmytro Gordon, also worked with him on the original idea for the song and video and they decided that they wanted a fusion of jazz, R&B and rock for the song so he worked with Candice Kelly on the lyrics as well while Dimash composed the song. His Master's in Composition was certainly not wasted as evidenced in this superb composition. They did a great job on the video as well, putting together a superb team. Everything is meticulous in it's detail. I hope this is the song that may break through the US market and introduce Dimash to a wider world audience that deserves to experience his talents. Please buy his song so that it may hit the charts.

As I have always said Dimash is the Bruce Lee of singing ! He uses no way as way - has no limitation as limitation. He doesn't confine himself to any style, yet he is all styles. Bruce did it with martial arts - Dimash is doing it with singing !

The visuals distract me too much, because I want to listen deeply into his voice and immerse myself in all his sonic facets...
