Regine is the ultimate standard or the top belter in the Philippines. She's such a legend! Even now, her songs are still staples in karaoke sessions. I think she became the benchmark for singers learning how to sing properly. There are many talented singers with high vocal ranges, but Regine’s voice stands out-no matter how high the notes are, it’s still so pleasing to the ears. Her voice doesn’t strain or hurt to listen to, but it’s still powerful. I don’t know, but the texture of her voice is just so captivating and enjoyable to hear.

Back in mid 90s when regine wasnt a very big star yet, i remember donna cruz was the HYPE. she had couples of hits and whenever high belting songs were talked about its her name that always comes first. I just suddenly remember those days and its about the same era as this song.

Believe it or not, during this era of Regine’s career, this was only one of the simpler belts of hers. Jacky tried singing this song with some Chinese female artists but while they probably could reach the belt during practice, they would abruptly back out mid final performance. This has always been one of my favorite duets ever.

Regine was my first favorite Filipino singer ( I was a teenager then, with no KZbin or the internet, so whenever Regine appeared on TV, I would stop and run in front of the TV). The special thing about her is that, even though her voice was hoarse when she spoke( from practice), once she started singing, the hoarseness disappeared and she hit every note.
