What I love about this lesson was that he was teaching how to sing with that high head voice, not just being able to sing the note itself and feel happy with that. I also love the concept of singing into the environment, gives you a great visual and really makes you think About the individual words and how you can add intimacy and drama I’m already in incorporating this into a song I’m practicing now. His student sounds like a totally different singer at the end of the video.

I’m thinking of a singer I know from church who literally EVERY song they sing is blasting every note seeing it extra loud extra forceful, which is interesting for Church where you want a song to be joyful and intimate!

Fantastic lesson! Although Cameron‘s first run through was amazing it didn’t resonate with me. On the final run through I got goosebumps because of the growth that was evident, he literally applied everything that you coached him on and it made it so much more intimate and like you said vulnerable, and not just singing but communicating the words of the song. Bravo! I’m excited to try to put that to use. Oh and the goosebumps lingered ha ha! The smile on your face as you watched him was everything. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise!

So is a good distance from a mic, two fingers seems to be standard. What I notice is the closer, bassier the tone. To far back, lost we are.

Right up on the mic for your softest most intimate dynamics, 2-3 inches away for normal speech level dynamics, and about 6 inches away for louder dynamics and belting.

@@wolfstudiosnyc thanks, watching the start of the video, the singer was so far back from the mic and yet sounded so crisp, was in awe, really strong singer.
