Advice that helped me was to sing as if singing a lullaby to a sleeping baby and gradually build up. I was mostly into singing metal, rock, and indie, but my natural voice sounds kinda country. Once I quit fighting it, singing got a lot more comfortable.

I'm able to find the creaky door in head voice but going up in range with it doesn't work at all😢 I get tension in my throat as I go up. I'm gonna keep working on it but I'm thinking I might be using the wrong muscles , I think my placement is correct but I'm not using everything IN SYNC CORRECTLY does anyone know a good video on explaining this technique? 😊TY

Somehow your reels started coming onto my FB feed a couple months ago and it was clear that you're a very rare vocal teacher who teaches primarily commercial voice AND entirely understands the instrument itself! It's still too rare to find someone who knows the human voice inside and out and teaches commercial voice, for some reason finding both in one instructor is hard to find, and your reel on distortion using Black Dog was what sold me on what you're teaching and finally got me to understand what the vocal mechanism/muscles are actually doing! Other channels, while great, really didn't explain what is actually happening muscularly and how to find that sound, and I'm sad I didn't find you until after I left NYC! I really could have used you then 🤣 Also, did you train with Seth Riggs or Brett Manning at any point? I've only heard "speech level" from those who did, it's kind of their tell all phrase!

i disagree, but only for belting below the first passagio. i belt in chest voice all the time, its a style not a specific part of your range

Dig this - able to do such a "flip" and still call it falsetto. That's being very true. Calling iit a very good and strong falsetto might even be considered less true. Keep it up, great show!

I know the larynx should stay stable for singing. However, I would like to know if it is possible for the larynx to violently bob up and down without tension while singing?😊
@SilentAssassin012344 күн бұрын
The larynx staying stable = staying still. It will always rise with pitch. It has to as the chords are stretching thinner.
@caleguillory54514 күн бұрын
I know the larynx will rise and lower with pitch, I just wanted to know if intensely rapid bobbing, rocking, and stretching were all possible without tension.
@znmnky133 күн бұрын
Sounds like what you're talking about is yodeling. When done correctly, there shouldn't be any tension.
@caleguillory54513 күн бұрын
@@znmnky13 You mean yodeling can make the larynx go crazy without causing tension? If so, then I’m all in. Therefore, for future vocal projects, mainly as a singer-songwriter, I plan to incorporate yodel into my songs. However, I must mention that it will be a rapid yodel that nearly mimics vibrato.
@znmnky133 күн бұрын
@caleguillory5451 I'm not the authority on yodeling but I believe it's like flipping in and out of head voice in a quick controlled manner. I'm sure there are vids here on YT. Be careful and good luck!

Really appreciate your good work and explanation brother but your “full compression” isn’t full voice and not even close to the intensity that Bruno sings in 🙏🏻
@MarcoDorian11 күн бұрын
That’s because of several factors: Bruno is a short man with a naturally thin, highly pitched voice and he has a raspiness that gives the illusion of a more “chesty” tone (think of Christina Aguilera who adopts a similar style, even though she uses much more projection and resonance).
@danielperez304410 күн бұрын
@@MarcoDorian i see what u r saying but in that case you’re wrong, that sounds more toward “speech level singing” kind of method which is not more than “strong head voice/falsetto” and not what Bruno does which is lots more vocal folds adduction

Thanks for sharing how we can control our larynx movements when we sing high or low voice exercises. I enjoyed watching your singing class demonstration in this video.
During the creaky door exercise, is she mixing and holding that closure all the way up to that very high C, or is she letting go at any point into her head voice? BTW - You are an EXCEPTIONAL instructor. Not referring to the quality of your singing skills (which are great), but the way you clearly communicate and explain. That's been my biggest frustration with vocal instructors...not good communicators. But you are super at it. Bravo.
@wolfstudiosnyc13 күн бұрын
Thank you very much! Appreciate the gratitude. Certainly, as she ascends the scale the vocal registration is changing from chest voice, through mix coordinations, towards head voice. What remains consistent throughout is the light, efficient cord closure and the minimal breath force and effort. This gives the voice an even quality as she sings through her range.
