I just love listening to someone who has so much passion in their work. Whether you are a plumber, doctor or artist, I just love when people find their calling and make a living doing what they love. I think only a small percentage fit into this category. Most work to pay the bills, the lucky few pay the bills and then some, but Monday morning are great mornings. Been an SP fan since 1989

Definitely one of my favorites since I first heard them in the mid 80s. I was on a diet of 4AD musicians (Cocteau Twins, etc) and punk. Then my older next door neighbor introduced me to these cats. FUUUUUUUUUCK.... Them, along with Johnny Cash and Frank Zappa or about my favorite bands\musicians. It's weird, but I do not listen to my favorite bands a lot. Lol. I guess I treat myself to them every once in a while. I just got a new subwoofer yesterday. I'm definitely going to have to put some SP on after I get off work. Yo Yo Scrape should rattle the windows and piss off my neighbors quite nicely. 😁

I like how the compression makes the vocal’s attack so razor-sharp, as he’s singing the words “knife” and “slice.” It goes a step beyond just telling something, it lets the listener hear/feel that in a tacit way.

Thanks for the video Ken! That was fun and educational! = ) I would love, l.o.v.e., LOVE to see you do a (looooong 😁) video on the production of Last Rights. To me Last Rights is their Magnum Opus and the most obscure to my mind when it comes to production. It just sounds so densely packed with layers, while still sounding huge and the vocals bob in and out of the storm perfectly, sometimes blending with the noise, other times rising above it, or getting sucked under into the maelstrom... I would love to know more about how it all was done, anything you did and / or remember. That album has been a huge inspiration for (parts) of my own music, but moreover it's been always been a terribly powerful emotional marker for me. Thank you for your part in creating that album (and all the other ones - I own most if not all)! Have a great Sunday!

I´m ambivalent on these videos tbph. On the one hand I find it fascinating that one of the people responsible for one of my favourite band´s sound is dissecting it in a video ...fascinating knowing more about the "secrets " behind the music you like so much . One the other hand it kills the mystery of it all, a certain mystique which comes with not knowing what "the trick " is -yeah ,just like a Magical trick .
