Vocal reverb is a big part of getting a polished mix, but with so many options with using vocal effects live, the range of parameters can get overwhelming. I'll demonstrate how to use live vocal effects in a way that enhances your vocal mix, without drawing attention to the reverb, and making it feel like your vocals are part of the band, not just layered on top.
I'll show you how I set up my reverb for live sound, how I pick my reverb time, what pre-delay does, how to set your reverb levels to avoid drowning your vocals, and how you can add EQ to your reverb send to get a super-clean reverb that adds just the right amount of space to your live vocals.
