Good song choices. Welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole. There is no other band quite like them, they are original and unique and they don't follow or copy the same old formats that most bands have been doing for decades. They started in 2010 aged 12, 11 and 11 as a fusion of Metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics including choreographed dance - but not as you know it. Their choreo is not used to titillate or distract like it is by most pop acts etc, it is interpretive, relating to the meaning of the song or a lyric - very handy for us non-Japanese speakers - but most importantly it is used to engage with, include and involve the audience. They are masters of crowd control and can get whole arenas (not just the front rows) jumping, chanting and joining in, following their lead. As an old school rock and metalhead I had no interest in choreographed dance (and I still don't with any other artists), but BABYMETAL's choreo just enhances and improves everything ... I have no idea how, it just does. BABYMETAL are: Su-metal lead vocalist, now 26. She has been singing professionally since she was about 9. Her breath control is incredible and she is so versatile, she can sing in so many different styles. The whole concept for BABYMETAL was devised, formed and developed around her vocal talents. Moametal scream (ie backing vocals, harmonies leading crowd chants etc) and dance, now 25. Momometal scream and dance, she's 21 and became the official third member on April 1st last year. The original third member was Yuimetal (scream and dance). She last appeared in October 2017 then missed the big shows for Su's 20th birthday in December under her doctor's advice. She was missing for the 2018 tour and in October 2018 she announced she was still not fully recovered and had decided to leave the band. Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years supported by any one of 3 dancers (the Avengers) for live shows. After about March 2020 only one Avenger was still with them - that was Momoko Okazaki ... and on 1st April 2023 she was finally revealed as the new third member Momometal and got a mic so she can help Moa out with the backing vocals and so on. They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band. They first appeared in October 2012 and were phased in gradually over the next 18 months playing a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows. From March 2014 the Kami Band became the permanent support for all live shows. They are tyhe best session musicians to be found in Japan. As session musicians the Kami Band do have their own bands and projects and families etc so they would swap in and out depending on their availability and there were many Kami Band members, but the same hard core of about 6 musicians played the vast majority of concerts until their last appearance to date in January 2023. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) was introduced to support BABYMETAL on the increasingly lengthy foreign tours. They have been ever present since April 2023 (that was nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries last year and I've lost count of the concerts and festivals they've already played around the world this year). I saw some of the recognised great live bands in their prime - I was never better entertained than at the BABYMETAL concerts I've been lucky enough to experience. We have watched them grow up (they were aged 12 and 11 when they started 14 years ago) to become one of the very best live bands on the planet ... and they have international awards to show that is not just my opinion. They have about 70 songs now and each one different to the last - some are good hard metal (they have songs in virtually every metal sub-genre), some lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. They can do anything and their collaborations all work so well because of that, they can fit in with so many other bands' styles. Their official videos are all very good and worth seeing (3 or 4 are almost essential viewing), but they are even better live. 'Megitsune' (2013) and 'Karate' (2016) are two of the better music videos, so they were good choices. The performance of 'Headbanger' you saw was a special performance in 2019 on Moametal's 20th birthday, so she took over lead vocals for the second half of the song while Su-metal stepped into her place for the choreography. jakemuller8626 has already suggested 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan from 2015. I will make one suggestion for a completely different style of song by them. This is a much more recent song (from the album released last year) - 'Monochrome' (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs.

Спасибо за реакцию на самую лучшую группу! Живые выступления у них всегда топовые. По поводу участниц: по центру Сузука, по бокам в старых клипах и выступлениях Моа и Юи (до 2017 года). С 2023 года вместо Юи - новая участница Момоко. Между 2017 и 2023 в группе официально числились только Сузука и Моа, на концертах кроме них на третьем месте были сессионные танцовщицы - мстительницы. Также стоит отметить музыкантов, играющих на концертах - Kami Band. Их две группы - японская и появившиеся с 2019 года - американская, которая сейчас стала основной. Если хочется услышать больше Моа и Юи, то у них есть 4 дуэтные песни, рекомендую Onedari Daisakusen. Также у Су есть 4 сольные песни, которые она исполняет в одиночку, рекомендую Rondo of Nightmare ( версию Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro| LIVE at Budokan Black Night) и No Rain No Rainbow (версию с Legend S). Также Road of Resistance и Monochrome (у этой песни есть чудесная Piano version). Вообще можно советовать все песни) Из других японских групп посоветую Band Maid, Wagakki Band и Trident

Они топовые. Только такой метал и могу слушать ) Что еще в них офигенного - так это песни, смешанные с другими жанрами. Не только с j-pop. У них есть чисто рэп под металл. Или в стиле индии. Так же есть несколько песен как под метал, так и чисто под пианино. Во общем во все направления пошли. Потому угодят каждому. + есть куча песен без главной вокалистки.

I'm sure others mention, but just in case: The hand gestures are shadowpuppets of a fox, fox and fox imagery is constant in their work; when they were first introduced to heavy metal (via concert) they saw everyone making the devil horns sign but mistook it for shadowplay of foxes - which was so cute they decided to keep it for themselves. The choreography is amazing, different and intricate and emotive for every single one of their 50+ songs. Su-Metal (lead singer) started at the age of 12 as the lead for Babymetal, was ~14 when they started to perform live, in the more current videos she is 26. She is one of those very rare people with incredible talent, love of the thing they are talented in, and a work ethic to perfect that thing and keep improving no matter what. She is one of the best lead singers in any genre ever, legendary.

Differently not very light rap music then to very passionate lovely romantic music performance far far away! Thanks for this reaction. 11:37 haha, good one. 🙂 The dancing is what limits the live show to 1 hour or 1 hour stretched with more breaks to 1.5 hour maximum. 17:53 it's her special talent and hard work, we've never seen it before. Her other talent is her clarity and diction. They performed 2 times in Russia in 2020, Saint Petersburg and Moscow. Sadly the last show of the tour, Moscow she was sick. Maybe COVID got her ? it was 2020.

Лучший способ услышать вокальные возможности Су - посмотреть выступление The F1rst Take BABYMETAL Monochrome. Смысл там в том что все записывается с первого дубля, без обработки.. А вообще лучше смотреть лайвы, она всегда поет вживую. Из других японских групп рекомендую заценить East of Eden - Evolve, ну или любую другую песню, их не много и они все хороши.
