It wasn't only during the choruses that the vocals were mixed between the groups. Momoka was also doing some of the harsh vocals. There are videos where it color codes each vocalist parts and you can see how much they really were mixing all throughout.

Every time I listen to this, I'm constantly amazed at her growls. Makes me wonder if they'll have MomoMetal doing more growls in other songs during live performances (eg BxMxC). Very talented young woman and she definitely earned her spot in BABYMETAL.

Welcome back to the Foxhole, it's been a while.🦊🤘🔥 Finally you're back with this suggestion, btw happy belated birthday to MoaMetal.🐨❤ This single reached Number 1 best selling single in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! If you see comments talking about how cool was one of the singers turning around at the end, that's a reference to a video reaction they did last week. But the one who really looks cool are oc the ladies striking a pose near the end which is also the pose they used when performing live right from the beginning.💃 Last weekend of May they played this song at FOX_FEST Festival in Japan along with Electric Callboy, everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab of the year and hit of this summer. They also released the official live if you don't wanna stop and keep pushing it to the limit. They also played together once again at Rock Im Park in Germany twice, one during EC show and the other one during BM show wearing cool new outfits. After that they played again at Rock Am Ring and we already got cool proshot clips. Last weekend they finished the Europe Tour and once again with both groups playing this song twice at Resurrection Fest in Spain making everyone going wild. Polyphia were also at FOX_FEST playing a set and the guitarists Tim Henson and Scott Le Page played together with BM the song Brand New Day, they're special guest in the album version, they were looking for this since a very long time ago and also fans waited for this. We already got an official live MV released recently if you wanna check that out. Next suggestion to enjoy another super collab they did prior to this: - F.Hero x Bodyslam x BabyMetal - Leave It All Behind official MV. This to address right off the top. This video has 13,000,000 views in a month. So yeah, doing OK. That was Su singing lead vocals since the very beginning. Babymetal is the three ladies. I think it was"Megitsune" you were talking about which was released in Japan in 2013. Babymetal was the three teens then and there has been only one personnel change in all that time. Wing girl Yui left and her beloved position is now held by the wonderful Momo. Who has been performing with BM since 2019. Babymetal and Nico and Kevin first performed this live two weeks after this mv was released at Fox Fest Festival hosted by Babymetal. It has since become an audience favorite and the two bands have performed it I think six times together at various summer festivals. The bands developed a real affection for each other which is very obvious in their live performances. Good job on this one. Thanks.

It’s the perfect Collab. Not just for the song, but more the impact it’s had on me. Not since BABYMETAL WAAAY back in the day have I been so intrigued and addicted to a band I just discovered, and fell in love with the community of fans, passion, kindness, and talent of the entire whirlwind surrounding a band: first it was BM…together they crashed the morning light introduced me to Electric Callboy. I can’t stop listening. And while I’ve been lucky enough to see BM twice front row (because a fellow fan in line just bought of bunch of front row tickets to hand out in line, along with chocolates, to people in line…man…that’s still the coolest thing…), I now have a new mission: to see Electric Callboy in the Denver or Chicago, or west coast area sometime; not just for the band, but for the fans and community around all of this. I’ve seen over 850-ish bands live, from MASSIVE household names., to small indie bands, and no one does it like BM and EC. Just watch “Tank the Tech”’s blogs on KZbin, and try not to smile. (He’s a fan and react/blogger…that became EC’s full, high level Tour Manager, and man, you can see the passion of EVERYONEi. Those go-pro videos…especially the one where Nico almost passed out from heat exhaustion, but kept going because “it’s about passion, and these people paid to be here, and I will give it my all even if it includes passing out, because I still can’t believe I’m here, and this is everything.”) No one read this far, but I’m sick, and have been listening to EC and BM all day to cheer me up, and just wanted to add some info and ethos into the Internet landscape if anyone didn’t already know. 🙂 and it worked.

Ratatatat is a name used for the beat in an EDM/techno song that catchs you. The hook almost. Also not a lot of people notice but Kevin is not the only one with the hard vocals. Momo is on there with Are you ready and Everybody.

I'm not sure how accurate this is or if it's your own take/speculation on it. However, the "official" understanding I have heard (I think ECB's tour manager, Tank the Tech on here) said that "Ratatata" is a German onomatopoeia word, meaning it isn't a real word, but a word derived from a sound (just in case someone doesn't know what onomatopoeia means). Ratatata is the sound associated with the sound German machine guns make. Could it have something to do with EDM/techno music? Sure, especially since the song is all about dancing the night away with friends. However, I'm just giving you what I have heard as the "official" meaning.

The lead singer for Baby Metal is Sumetal (Suzuka Nakamoto). She is the lead on all BabyMetal songs, with a very few exceptions. She sang lead on your previously reacted Megitsune, (Meg-it-su-ne).

"BABYMETAL", "Su-metal", "meh-gee-tsoo-neh" (メギツネ). "Su-metal" has a "-", but Moametal, Momometal and Yuimetal don't. It indicates an extended "u" sound in Japanese.

Welcome back. Your previous two BABYMETAL reactions were both to songs recorded in 2013. 'Megitsune' was recorded over 11 years ago and actually pre-dates 'Gimme Chocolate' by several months. Su was 15 in that one - and yes she was always and still is the lead vocalist and just turned 16 in 'Gimme Chocolate' - Yui and Moa were both 13 in 'Megitsune' and 14 in 'Gimme Chocolate'. Yui last performed in Oct 2017 and left BABYMETAL 12 months later because of ongoing health reasons. Momometal became the new third member in April 2023 ... they have had no other changes in personnel in their 14 years. 'RATATATA' is just fun start to finish ... and they were appearing during each others' sets whenever they were playing the same festivals around Europe to perform this song together ... and the crowds were all having a blast singing and dancing along. BABYMETAL were wanting to make a song that people could dance to in the same sort of style as an Electric Callboy song, along the lines of 'We Got The Moves' but felt there was something missing - so as both bands were playing in Boston at the same time BABYMETAL went to the EC concert and met up with them before the show to ask if they wanted to get involved. This song (after much back and forth between the bands and about 20 versions) was the result. I don't think ratatata has a meaning other than it it the noise you make when banging on something, knocking on a door, running through a wall or maybe hitting the dance floor. The disco ball helmets ... go with the disco ball theme - did you notice the fingers on their gloves as well? It is a straight 50-50 collaboration, but the clean vocals and growls are not a straight split - Nico from EC is doing a lot of the clean vocals with Su-metal, as you heard, but also Kevin from EC is joined in the growls by BABYMETAL's Momometal "showing her fangs" with the second "Are you ready?" and both "Everybody"s towards the end of the song.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛. (BABYMETAL will return to USA and go on tour from Nov. thru Dec. to perform 18 concerts at 15 venues.) I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (then group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!) ★ You can find the official LIVE video in KZbin !! The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. Now the 3 girls and 2 boys are doing this song with EC band in EC shows and with Kami Band in BM shows, in two ways, in some European festivals 💛。 (Just FYI, BABYMETAL also played "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA, Texan band, in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing. You can find a video of the live performance in YT.)

The one with at the disco ball was Su, the same main singer as usual. But, she did sing in English, and that almost without any accent. So, it does not sound as it normally do. Its more deep and mature when she is singing English and more "baby" when she sing Japanese. I actually like her English singing very much. It shows her versatility better IMHO.

Ratatata is a machine gun sound because his body is a weapon. I think both group had a lot of fun of producing this sing, you can tell when they together on stage and perform the song. But at the same time they worked also very seriously on the song. According to different interviews of both bands they needed 22 - 23 versions of this song to came to an agreement. The exact number is not clear because they told different numbers in different interviews.

Gonna be so cool to see when she starts being a bigger part even live, and the Moa-banger shows she can offload Su as clean vocals during longer concerts. 5:04 Electric Callboy was originally founded in 2010 under the name Eskimo Callboy. In 2022, they changed their name for reasons of political correctness. In 2020, Kevin replaced the former singer Sushi, who left the band to pursue his own path.

The division between harsh vocals (EC) and soft vocals (Babymetal) no longer exists from the second verse onwards. Both sing both together. Harsh vocals also were sing by babymetal. The second "Are you ready?" and in the last part "Everybody"

I very much like how the little girls stand their vocal ground against those heavy growling men. Even at the end they keep up with that funny "Fu Fu" against the mens growling. A very playful and modern interpretation of the roles of men and women. Perhaps it needed some german men for it.

Well it was one of the worst kept secrets. They visited Electric Callboys in Boston (in full Uniform) and this was really the day when they made the Deal. But this is the advantage of small independend Groups, the Global Players might not like this, but fast decisions andvsurprises are an advantage of these procedures.

They met at Electric Callboys concert in Boston, but not in uniform. They met to talk about this collab and Babymetal stayed to watch their whole show (EC is pretty proud, that they stayed for the whole length of their show, but it might just because they played "We Got the Moves" last - which was the song BM was inspired by and what BM wanted to see them doing live). Fans spotted Babymetal and took pictures and filmed this. This started a rumor on reddit, where this was discussed by fans. They were pretty good at keeping this secret, other than these rumors, which cooled down after all these months. In an interview in early May, Nico spoiled this again. He talked about a collab with a non-German band, which was waaay better in dancing, then they are. He said EC already composed a killer-track for this collab. Only very few fans actually catched this, but some connected the dots and the rumors on reddit were back again. Just a few weeks later the trailer for "Ratatata" dropped. edit: grammar corrections
