I like the live version even better - when Jacob begins to sing, it’s so wonderful and the variation of his verse is really great. Thank you for the bonus!

Dude - drop everything and look for Jacob and Dodie singing Summer Rain with the National Orchestra at the Kennedy Centre - then - look for Jacob, Dodie and Laufey (an Icelandic singer really worth your while checking out!) singing Wild Mountain Thyme from the same concert! Both are absolutely stunning live performances that had me in tears!

❤❤❤ Been waiting for this one...patiently...it's my favorite on the album! Lizzy's voice is so soft, much like Amber from Moonchild. Almost like you could float on it. Great reaction to a great song and solo! Thanks for the BONUS material too!

The rhythm is 4/4, but the accents and lyrics running from bar to bar give the impression of an unusual time signature. He plays with time, for example, when he sings 'moment' he sustains the note slightly giving the notion of holding on to something or someone. So, the lyrics inform the music and vice versa. The drum sound is, I think, an udu. The guitar solo is sublime. The song is pretty 'ambient' in an Eno-esque way, and the guitar solo reminds me of Fripp, somewhat. Now, Eno and Collier.....!

Spot on. You can really hear the 4/4 feel in the live version, while the addition of the drum track in the studio makes it feel polyrhythmic.

I've loved JC for ages now, but I am really taking to Lizzy, her sound is, as you said, almost ethereal. I'm so glad you showed the live performance, it shows it's definitely not smoke and mirrors and engineered. I know it has never been that way with their work, but for the skeptics out there and the haters. Nice reaction Charlie, really nice.

This song was in my ears quite a bit a few summers ago when it was firat released as a single, and I will never tire of it! One of the great mellow songs in recent years. What a combo! The vocal control LM has at such low dynamic is remarkable and not common. JM solo is all about tone and tastefulness. Jacob keeps getting better at combining simplicity and complexity with whatever the music calls for.

That sounds like a sub-divided four time, to me.

One of my faves from Jacob. It’s 4/4 time with a lot of syncopation (jazz influences)

It's like level one of syncopation bro ik it's nice but a lot is crazy. It's just an early kick

When are you going to get to the rest of the album. There are some amazing songs for you to react to.

Soon. I've had a mountain of paid requests to get through and none of them have been for Jacob unfortunately. To be fair, I only have 'over you', 'box of stars' 1+2, and 'world O world' to go. The rest I've done now
