Jacob does my head in, he is next level and this is transcendental. I can understand why this makes you emotional, it makes me emotional. Without sounding pompous, but I think this music really hits home most to those that have or have had musical backgrounds. What he does with not just the melody but also the complex harmonies and key changes and blending and colour and textures is mind boggling. Every time I listen to this I hear something new.

I had a very similar experience with Jacob's music as you Charlie. I was in a dark place and Jacob's music helped me see the light when everything around me seemed hopeless. His arrangement of "You and I" is in my opinion the most exquisite harmonic arrangement ever achieved. The delicate dance between dissonance and consonance creates a sonic landscape that makes me feel every emotion, and probably emotions I didn't even know I had.

for me one or two things make these jc-performances even more likeable and impressive: there's always this 'eyes-twinkle' humour in the back of it all, and also that huge amount of fun he's having - and spreading, which's drives me even more to tears regularly.. 😂

I am so sorry to hear about your son Darren. While life is so cruel and can cause pain that we and others don't deserve, music seems to have a way to help us in some way in most situations. I will always love it for that. Thank you for commenting today brother. I appreciate you

I so enjoyed your reaction and heartfelt sincerity ..... and it was not that different from my own. So much of his music brings me to tears, and a sense of quiet all at the same time. Jacob's true gift, beside his incredible musical skill, is that he is genuine - he has found a way to express himself freely - with no other motive than to express. He has no ego in the game - he is in love with his muse. He offers his gift not to impress, but to express. A wonderful message for every aspiring musician or artist. He is neither competitive - he has a pureness that simply invites us to listen, nothing more. As a musician, his vast skill does not intimidate me - rather, it encourages me to find my own voice. From an interview he did not so long ago, he said that there is nothing wrong with being "big" - he shines .... and I sincerely understand that he wants us to shine as well .... and brightly so!! Isn't this the very thing that he is bringing about in his "audience choir"? I think he is overjoyed to see us all shine!! So, shine on!! Thank you again for sharing your reaction - tears with joy and relief at discovering something good, when it seems that humanity is so crazy.

I have never heard this beautiful, extraordinary piece of music without shedding a few tears of wonder and joy. I truly felt everything you had to say and honor your courage in sharing. If we humans don't extinct ourselves one way or another I believe in a hundred years people will still listen to this in utter wonder that there existed a person whose mind and talent could conceive and create something like this. Every time someone plays or reacts to this song I imagine someone else will hear it for the first time and it will profoundly change their life. Thanks for this.
