Thank you for reacting to Faouzia. I went to her concert last fall, and I left convinced she’s a soprano. That’s just where it seemed easiest. Many people have commented on her swag and her storytelling. Hopefully you will watch one of the two stripped versions of this song. I like the stripped one as it’s very dramatic and shows off her dynamics. The stripped concert one is slightly better pitch wise and she covers F3 to F5 as easily as walking up and down stairs. Her cover of ‘Desert Rose’ shows off her Moroccan side, as she sings both Sting’s English part and Cheb Mami’s Arabic part. The highlight being her very North African runs. She shows off her North American side with a modified version of J. Cole’s ‘Middle Child’, and more pop with a piano version of John Mayer’s ‘Slow Dancing in a Burning Room’. Have fun.
