soo many tenors jeez and their approach doesn’t linger far from scaling up and down consecutively on the staff.. some light arpeggio work here and there. aside from some minor chord changes and cool pentatonic stuff.. my ears are a little desensitized because the musicality has become so common place. All these guys are proper beasts though. Every single one of these cats are gifted!! I enjoyed this so much!! Peter Collins made my ears quirk up with those exotic double harmonic (Phrygian) riffs, though.. u don’t hear a lot of that in western music! He’s sickkkk👏🏽

This video really just showed me just how underrated and underappreciated masculine artistry is to not only music listeners, but to many male artists themselves. What does a man sound like? Lol toxic masculinity. Let’s just enjoy ppl showcasing their natural talent instead of being someone their not
@1Chicanery4 жыл бұрын
I don't think he meant it in the way you guys going with it! There is an obvious difference between the way these guys sing and Donnie Mcclurkin, Darell Coley etc... I think (hope) he means that he would love to hear them sing in their natural voices. In that context, it would be a totally different sound from a musical stand point. All women out, even Mariah Carey sings deeper than what these guys always display. So im sure he wouldn't say she was masculine. No matter how we fight for masculine or feminine stances, the choir is still divided by natural voices when placing vocal arrangements. Females make up the bulk of true soprano and alto sections, while men mostly make up tenor and base. Come on. Stop being so sensitive. Yall know what this man trying to say! Lmaooooo. Or just ask him what he meant before accusing him of being a jerk! Best wishes!
@darkskinsfinest154 жыл бұрын
Chicanery 2U your comment proved what we just said. Again, naturally a male can have a higher tessitura than a female. Example; Laylah Hathaway compared to Mitch grass From Pentatonix. Yes females usually have higher voices but it’s not uncommon for males to have higher placed voices and to assume that they aren’t singing with their natural voice is ignorant
@keishacelestine17454 жыл бұрын

Roosevelt Nickelberry an un trained ear or one not versed in tine, richness, saturation, pitch and so forth would think so. I truly can’t wait till male singers realize there is a technique called belting. I’ve always wondered why no male singer just flat out sings && the first go to is the typical upward falsetto run. Are most men not able to belt notes? I’m honestly asking... Luther, Johnny Gill, and the young boys at the end were like one of the only singers that actually have a belting range🤨😐🤨
@jaysoulxselah82604 жыл бұрын
They've all been raised on kim burrell brandy karen clark and beyonce. I dont think any of these dudes listen to male vocalist lol
@truuff4 жыл бұрын
Belting is quite easy! Runs are much more difficult. Ask any REAL singer. Belting doesnt require as much breath control as riffs and runs :)
@sir39584 жыл бұрын
Wise One Son falsetto is literally a specialty of men it’s like the strongest aspect in their singing. That wasn’t coming from an oblivious standpoint😐. A lot of male singers especially within the most recent years, for whatever reason men have blended into the same ole technique, the only thing that sets them apart is tonality differences. From this compilation it confirmed in my opinion why there’s no mainstream male vocalist, well a mainstream black male vocalist at that.
@jaysoulxselah82604 жыл бұрын
@@truuff belting requires way more control and training.Without proper diaphragm support, pitch, and musical knowledge you arent belting. Youre screaming.... Runs are as simple as making a pop tart. Why do you think theres more male singers relying on frivolous runs and riffs instead of standing flat footed and singing. Its simple. They cant. Theres a reason why greats like luther daryl donny rance sam otis jackie etc are considered legends. They have style they have musical knowledge and they can do more than run all over the place
@jaysoulxselah82604 жыл бұрын
@@sir3958 hes not worth even trying to explain too. He's the same person that just said running and riffs are more difficult than belting and requires more breathe😂😂😂

Van someone please explain what masculinity has to do with anyone's ability to sing notes? Are instruments masculine or feminine. A note on a scale is just that and it will still sound different, yet the same, no matter what instrument it comes from. Every women isnt a soprano just like every man isn't a bass. Smh. Ppl crazy
