I don't know if there is any such thing as a perfect performance of any musical work, but this comes as close as I ever hope to hear. Simply cannot get enough of this group. They are in the territory of the sublime.

WOW! This is the first time I've ever heard this with just 8 voices (and an excellent small orchestra) ...Absolutely STUNNING!!! Faure would be proud of this beautiful presentation. Now, I would treasure listening to the 'entire' work. How about it, VOCES8? Feed us more of your musical perfection...please!

At every hearing of this beautiful piece, I come back to the Aldous Huxley quote on the After Silence cover: "After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music..." This is music of and from the soul. Thank you.

How beautifully spacious this is. There is so much ‘light’ in contrast to the audio ‘mush’ sometimes heard. The harp sets a great tempo and the antiphonal exchanges between the male and female voices is so fresh and spatially delightful.

Love the melodic interplay between the Soprano, Tenor & Bass and the Harp. The addition of the high solo Violin using harmonics is simply a masterstroke of orchestration. Just goes to show one doesn't need the orchestra the size of Hector Berlioz to make your musical statement! Having said that the Berlioz Sanctus is equally beautiful.

I do love Fauré's songs, that are so beautiful and so "french". "Au bord de l'eau", "en sourdine", even "Green" ! But I just cannot listen to his Requiem, i can't, even if it's sung beautifully like by Voces8. It's like Ravel's Boléro.

As always perfect. The members of Voces8 know how to sing just perfectly together in tune and with a meticulous timing. Also the orchestra fits well to it.
