Note to audiences: When attending a VOCES8 concert, TURN OFF YOUR CELLPHONES! Thanx!

Not just a Voces8 concert. Any concert or other types of performance for that matter. It's extremely disrespectful. I got so pissed off when I heard the fucking phone ringing.

They need to employ a sniper to remove them from the performance - permanently . lol 🤣 I had the same in a performance my choir were giving.

Love this song. I sang the bass part as an audition piece and became part of the symphonic orchestra choir in M.

They are amazing! I have performed it 3 times in Russian in my choral career and it's almost always sung with a large chorus. It is the 6th (and most beautiful) hymn in Rachmaninoff's All Night Vigil. But they nailed it!

This one piece, of the Vespers, is so exquisitely sung by Voces8 voices… I am all goosebumps, and in (happy) tears of appreciation of a very hard job well done! Would that my singing group had done this … We would have sung it well, even if in English(!)… 😉😘🥰❤️🎶🎵

Rejoice, O Virgin Mother of God, Mary full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of Thy womb, for Thou hast borne the Saviour of our souls.

Either the recording has been cut or they made a very strange cut in the ending. Several bars missing.
@literallyallthingsonice2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, almost like they shortened the arrangement at the end. Either way, it’s not too offensive.
@HamiltonProvonsha5 ай бұрын
@@literallyallthingsonice I would wager this is a clip from the video. There's no way Voces8 pointlessly cut a few bars saving almost no time at all. Ha!

Almost definitely a recording cut. The audio quality jumps drastically at that breath.

Amusing the phone going off on such a serenely sacred moment. It was an honor to have auditioned for you all on 2012. I enjoyed London so much that summer. Okayed ping pong on the outdoor tables at the Embankment Gardens Then probably had too much Guinness that night after the audition ;) peace my singing friends. Hope to catch you in concert again sometime. DJW

Can people in audiences NEVER turn off their stupid phones?? It is amazing ...why do they bother going to hear such rapturous sounds anyway and have other man-made devices near them?
@misssophie651510 ай бұрын
wonderful music, would be amazing if they could do it again with all phones switched off and with octavists/ basso profondo, the recordings that have those are reallly something else

Just a note or two - but this omits the important words "Thou" (yesi) "souls" (dush) and leaves the word "our" (nashikh) hanging out with nothing to go with. Exquisite singing, though, as always.
