Every time I learn something new in Caustic, it adds another layer of depth to my songs. This was especially helpful. I've owned several synths, so I had no trouble learning how to use most of Caustic's, but I definitely got hung up on the Vocoder-it's not as straightforward as an actual/physical one. Anyways, thanks for the great tutorial! Also, if you were part of the team who wrote the program, double-thanks. Caustic has turned my tablet into one of my favorite toys. It functions and sounds almost as good as a room full of synths and equipment-and I can take it with me. Suffice to say, that's flippin' awesome!

I've worked in caustic since 2016 and have never once touched the vocoder. Now I just wanna play with it for weeks. Now just to learn more about the modulator and I'll be in business. Haha.
@bveracka9 ай бұрын
@@alanacula3855 I'm glad you commented on this old post because I nearly forgot about Caustic. I have a Samsung tablet that I dedicated to Caustic - so it'd run smoothly with nothing else taking up RAM. It's a great program. I'm actually quite sad that the software developers seem to have abandoned it. In a day and age when SO MANY people love apps, I'm really surprised they don't have some awesome new version in the works where you can use a USB interface to get a couple of vocal tracks in there, or even just a nice sampler. At any rate, you can still do A LOT with that humble little program. I've since upgraded to an iMac + Ableton Live combo, but hilariously, my friends love the gloomy Swedish-style synth pop tracks I made on Caustic _ten years_ ago! ✌ Chin-chin! 🙂
@bveracka9 ай бұрын
@@alanacula3855 Oh boy, here comes a rant. I *_love_* Caustic! For a long time I had a nice Samsung tablet that I'd dedicated to having the paid app and all the extensions on - that way all the RAM on the device would be free to run it as smoothly as possible. I have to say that for a $10 app, it's nothing short of amazing what you can do with that app if you know how to use it. Ten years after making my first EP, people are still amazed that I made all six songs with Caustic. These days, I have a nice computer with Ableton, plug-ins, a few hardware synths, and lots of other instruments and gear. Although I can do _way more_ and sound very professional with all of it, the tracks I made on Caustic 3.0 have aged well. Something big that it lacks is a graphic EQ to see where your frequencies are hottest so you can maximize headroom, but with a good ear can work that out with a pair of headphones. For example, be careful not to use too much bass (on the mixer) on your bass tracks, or use too many boomy kicks in combination with a lot of bass. DEF learn that modulator inside and out; make it your top priority. It really opens up the capabilities of the app and transforms an idea into a proper song. With full knowledge of how it works, you can make tracks on Caustic that stand up to - and are nearly as good - as some modern standalone hardware, _and_ for a tiny fraction of the cost. Any questions or tips you'd like I'd be glad to help. ✌Chin-Chin! 🙂

Just paid for Caustic 3 today after trying the demo for a few hours. Incredibly good app and these tutorials are excellent. I grew up in the 70s/80s and went through a lot of audio hardware over the years. Can't believe how much music creation power I can hold in my hand (in my Nexus 7) now. BTW I've seen people on a few videos here asking about latency on Caustic 3. It's very very low running on my setup. Haven't tried hooking a midi keyboard up yet but there is another video on here with a nano-key and it clearly doesn't seem to have any noticeable lag.

Like example can I just say "listen to the music" in my normal voice but maybe add an echo to it, could I do that?

Great right, but you said "everybody dance" exactly to the tempo. I've been trying to repeat my lyrics on tempo and quite frankly I'm not as well with mine cause my lyrics are taking up more than 8 measures. I've tried recording onto another object. What pc DAW have you been using for years may i ask?
@widebandrecords9028 жыл бұрын
i am thinking it's not fruityloops because after using fl for over 15 years there's no DAW to me that is as complex to figure out and most of all use seamlessly to get results as fast as playing the live instruments.. Depending on your device there will always be a delay and recorded samples have a limit so you must break your vocals down and piano roll them smoothly.. Use skills from your typical daw and merge them into caustic, caustic mobile is only special because it extends the desktop version and capabilities of top daws out there effortlessly and the main thing over all you know how you want your layers / music to sound.
@bluffcity49758 жыл бұрын
