FMSynth Tutorial - Caustic 3

I wish there was a way to send you folks a general message on KZbin instead of commenting on a video. I LOVE CAUSTIC!!!! I have it on four yes 4 devices. Two are MIDI capable so on one I've midi'd in my AKAI MPK mk3 and on the other I have midi'd in my Arturia Beatstep which is midi'd into my Uno Synth. The other two provide consistent beats and rhythms leaving me free to jam on the other devices and my synth. I love throwing it all into my bag with a portable power source, some speakers and head to the forest and pay homage to the colours turning leaves. I have experimented with so many other mobile music makers, groove boxes, Daws, etc and this one is definitely high up on my recommended list. It's just so damn powerful. It's like having 13 instruments in my phone. Multiply that by 4 devices and I have an orchestra with over 50 instruments playing all a once.. I loved it so much I paid for the full version and if your serious about your music and want some portability or maybe you just want to add something new to your music rig I highly encourage you to support the developers and buy the app. I think it cost me ten bucks Canadian. Anywhoo. The tutorial videos are great. I hit pause every 30 seconds to follow along on my own device. Keep them coming. Cheers from Nova Scotia.

Are you using caustic on android ? And please tell are you facing latency issue with midi controller ? If I buy mpk mini mk3 do I need to set it up on pc or is it readily available to be used on caustic ?? Thankyou for this comment.

@@khalnayakji I am using it on Android yes. Newer version of Android. There is no set up. Turn on Caustic, plug in dongle to mobile phone to convert the USB-A to micro USB or USB-C, plug midi controller into dongle. Caustic will recognize it and prompt you for permission to use midi controllers. Play music. The phone will provide power to your controller which will quickly eat up the battery. I have no latency issues. I've paid for the full version of Caustic 3. There are a lot of vids and tutorials to this effect.

@@TheRealTeebz thankyou so much. I was in doubt about latency issue because of a tutorial video on how to connect midi controller in caustic by the developer. He talked about latency but it's been maybe more than 5 years and because of newer technology there is not much latency left. Thank you I'm gonna buy midi controller. May God help you as you helped me.

Yeah because frequency modulation synthesis is just so smooth I love toying with the different oscillators and trying different algorithms and such

This is such an amazing program AND an amazing video. Very informative but concise. I have a great time with my NL3 FM synthesis but 3 oscillators is going to really blow the doors open.

The only thing I think would make this absolutely awesome is a wave selector for each operator. That would really finalize this already awesome 3-operator synth! I know it might be a lot to add, but a modulation grid would be pretty awesome, less like the DX-7 this is somewhat modeling, but would be a bit more powerful in my opinion than the algorithm selector.

Please make next time a YM2151-FM synth with a 4 operators or DX7-like with a 6 operators! For the more complex and rich sounds =)

If you merge instruments to rack you can combine more than one FM Synth and create a "sort of" more than 3 Operator sound.

Ive been trying to use this to make sounds like the YM2612 sound chip from the sega genesis model 1 because it's an FM chip but I cant really get it to sound like it.

If you want to make sound for the YM2612 sound chip you can use the deflemask software or app, don't know if you already heard of it

Could we maybe get a mod wheel for the LFO in a future update? Also, it'd be cool if the "depth" parameter on the LFO could affect the amp/pitch in a greater degree than it does now.

It's hard too create good sounds on this takes time.This is good tutorial but None of the sounds were meant for a song, heavy melody would be nice .
