VOCODINE Vocoder | Ableton Live setup

When I route the MIDI track to the Audio track and I play notes, nothing happens, any idea what i can be doing wrong? I have the scale set in the plugin, and I also took Auto off

1. The scale is only for AUTO mode. No AUTO = play with MIDI. So you don't need to set a scale up to play it with MIDI 2. You need to arm both of the AUDIO and the MIDI track and make sure monitoring is on on both of them too if you want to play it back live. Make sure you're getting input from both your microphone and your MIDI controller, or make sure there are some vocals on the audio track and play it back as you play your MIDI keys. Send me an email on the website and include some screenshots/a screen recording with some more details and I'll help you get it set up right.

Doesn't seem to work with Ableton 12, Mac OS and midi input (either live playing or trying to send the MIDI output of a track with MIDI notes to the audio channel with Vocodine). Only works in auto-mode where it just vocodizes based on the pitches it detects itself on the audio track...

i have the same issue, worked fine in ableton 11, since updating to 12 vocodine doesn't show up in the routing

This plugin was a little tricky for me to get working in Ableton for some reason, but now that it is... its the best vocoder that i've used. Really lovely quality and flexibility

Yo! Im having difficulty with it not working for me. I noticed when I rout the Midi signal to the audio track underneath it doesn’t say “1-vocodine” and idea what needs to be done to fix that problem?

The audio track doesn’t actually need to say Vocodine, it will be called whatever you named the track (by default just ”audio”), after you select it the midi input of the plugin itself will say Vocodine. Hope that clears it up!

@@BlezzBeats i shot you an email, the midi is rounded to the audio as the out so I don’t think that’s it. I added a photo. If you could check that out that would be a big help, it’s not urgent tho

@@iliketochasegibbons8015 Make sure you don't miss any steps like arming the tracks (activate rec) or monitoring. Skip selecting a preset at first until you have it down because some of them are for auto mode, some of them are not, and some are for vocoder/chords. The default settings will do. After the routing is all set up according to the video (sidenote: the Vocodine input will be called whatever the audio track is called) try recording some audio, then activate the rec button on your midi track and play some notes as it's playing back. If that works fine, cool we know you routed everything right. Next step - arm both tracks with monitoring on. Now you should be able to both sing/scream/talk and play at the same time. If you're using MIDI to play it AUTO should be OFF and you don't need to set any scale up.

Does anybody have huge crackling issues in Ableton 12, where it’s impossible to use even when the buffer rate is at 1024? I have an M1 MAX with 64GB RAM, all my other VST’s and programs are working smooth. I tried to contact and got no response and the email I signed up doesn’t work now 🤯 anyways the plugin does look dope, just hope I can get it goin

Hey man! Sorry it took me a couple days to reply, just me here on the grind so it can take a day or two sometimes. Maybe you saw my email, but it sounds really strange and I'm eager to find out what it is. I have a similar MacBook setup and I can run probably up to 20 channels without issues, at 128 samples buffer size. Is the sample rate set to 44100/48000Hz? Do you see the CPU going crazy but you can hear it's trying to make sound/just a laggy type of crackling, or is it just making weird noises? Are you using the auto modes or triggering it with MIDI? Does it make a difference if you LOWER the buffer size? If it's not the CPU struggling for some reason, which it shouldn't, one of my guesses is that you're just hearing the consonant detection misfiring. Try turning the vocals down, the LEAK knob up and play it with midi, see if you get a clean synth sound coming out without crackling. But please explain as much as you can in detail or even better send me a video recording so I can see it in action, it's hard to speculate :)

Apple silicon processors often do BETTER with lower buffer rates, so (contrary to common thought) try going down before you go up. It’s because 64, etc. causes the computer to use its “performance cores” more often on the M-series chips.

Is there a fix for this yet? I just bought this and I can’t work it neither. It can work with the auto option but when the midi notes are routed to it, it stutters and barely plays the sounds

@@BlezzBeats Im having an issue right now where i cant get the synth sound to come through unless i turn the mix down. If i try to use it with the settings from this video i just get a clicking noise and am unable to get either synth or vocals
