This is humor lost on the interviewer Kurt is making fun of him and the fans because the fans constantly misunderstand what's being said in his songs an example of where he purposely sets this up is in the song all apologies "in my nest of salt" was often misunderstood by fans as "feminist assault" so when the reporter asks the question "do you like fatherhood" he answers as a bad father would who also purposely misunderstands the question much like an inattentive father to his children or Kurt Cobain's fans. Pretty savage of him tbh.
