She's like the other girl best friend. Romantic tension is natural, especially when the guy's love language is doing acts of service but his actual spoken language is Hyahlian, with him being "Mmm...Hya. Hiya." it's not unlikely that a new female adult like Riju can misconstrue. Such things develop further deeper into adulthood. Unaging Link was there when she was younger, and again was there when she needed it. Coming to age on her own alone proved difficult and Link showed up. I like it. There was a spark (or more), a literal plasmic connection. It's like proving that, like proverbial lightning, Link struck with opportunity twice. Literally kept Riju and her village alive. A lonely girl who felt probably deserted (pun slightly intended) needed to create a connection with someone, a link to living life (pun not intended). With Zelda gone, someone just might steal her thunder (no? ok). With the whole village surprised with Link being able to enter the female only village based on Riju's permission, and Riju and Link entering the lightning temple - it's almost like a cultural thing, where woman allows her man to enter her temple - a meta callback to spiritual belief and a slightly adult connotation (in a serious non-naughty approach). So, despite believing Link and Zelda are actually live-in partners, I'm not opposed to a love triangle, with a Link-Riju. I forgot, there's Paya, too. So Link has a Triforce. And Purah as well. Shucks. Tetraforce. Oops, Mipha as well. She did give him her "grace". There's also that musician girl. So haremforce.
