We're at motorcycle live 2023 (UK version of EICMA).
We stopped by MotoGB and sat on the Voge 300. The Voge has been around for a little while now and is starting to prove itself. Look at that price!

The vibration ‘issue’ is part of the suite of lie’s peddled by MCN. It’s fine new and after 1000 miles is sweet as a nut. Add a 15t front and it’s so smooth you’d think it was a twin.

I've heard it from multiple sources. Presumably it's a 14t as standard? How does it feel on the trails with a 15t? Does it comprise any off road ability like it would on a CRF?

@@lightweightadv I've done 1000 miles or so of TET including the Cotswolds, Wye Valley and Tintern steps and had no issues. I am planning to go back to a 14 for Wales and the Peaks but it's so easy to change. The 15 knocks 800rpm off of 70mph. I *averaged* 64mph from Newbury to Dover on it. Part of the 'mini-adventure' ethos for me in the UK is that it needs to deal with traffic and doing the TET as day trips means a commute for each session. Everything is a compromise I guess 😀

It's cheap because loncin/Voge sell a lot of bikes like the rally 300 around the world. In South America this bike it's a best seller

Agreed, but European/UK taxes and overheads often lump a considerable sum on any bike.

They’re a good looking bike and amazing at that price. Like you said, they’re bringing accessibility to a lot of people and anything that puts bums on bike seats has got to be good. The Chinese bikes have come on in leaps and bounds in terms of build quality in my opinion (had a Chinese bike about 10 years ago and modern ones seem in a different league); coupled with what seems to be a decline in quality of the Japanese bikes, certainly in terms of fixtures, fittings, paint quality etc, means there’s actually not that much in it any more. As long as there is good availability of parts and a decent (ish) service interval, then winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Yeah, nice summary. I'd like cho the need for some level of support, but doesn't have to be a full dealer network. You'll have to be happy with the depreciation too I think. All round however, it's a win.

The engine is Kawasaki 300 under licence, its just a top product for the ££. If the marketing team put a top rider on it an make loads of content for media no one would even challenge it being Chinese

Rode a test one at abr earlier this year and would definitely get one over the crf300 rally - thought it was great on the trail

Any specific reason you'd bypass the CRF?

@@lightweightadv price really - I've had 2 x crf250 rally & enjoyed them both but could get a brand new Voge with crash bars & rack included for much less money that a CRF300 rally & apart from Honda known reliability, they are pretty much the same bike. Not trying to dismiss the CRF just for anyone on a budget I thought the voge was a great alternative.

​​@lightweightadv I took a punt and ordered one of the first batches as they came into the UK. I've been using it for lanes and TET and think it's a great bike, in fact it got me a complete trail riding / travel setup including, everything I wanted; bars, rack, sump guard (aftermarket), screen, DMD navigation, tubliss trackers and Kriega luggage all in for £5k. What's not to like. Kawasaki KLX300 motor, £30 self service, any other parts available within 3days from motoGB On the point of sucking up the depreciation, how much cheaper can a trail bike really get? 😂 If you were looking in the second hand market you'd be comparing it to other trail bikes which will hold up the value of the voge unless there is a massive flood of them available. Planning to do more TET and some Europe trips next year. Love it!

Hey, yep, I guess that's what we're starting to see. Regards depreciation, I bought a CRF with 800 miles on for £4k, my entire set up is also around £5k and I'd still hope to get close to £3k back. I don't belive the figures would be the same for the voge is all, but that doesn't take anything away from the machine itself.

Nice, you got a great deal there and someone else took the depreciation hit. Surely the voge can't go far under £3k in the second hand trail bike market and that'll be only ~1k depreciation for the bike from new. You also know what you're getting with the Voge and don't need to search the market for a bike with extra bits or the right suspension setup etc. That said, I personally don't care what it's worth down the line, I'm all paid up and out riding. The initial outlay is low and replacement parts / plastics cost little for the voge. There is some freedom in that when you're out riding rough tracks. If I get nothing back after a few years riding it'll be money well spent.

You don't know, what you are talking about. Look at the details and you will find out, why this crap is "cheap".
