here in ozz all supermarket squash has to be washed and graded in sizes with no bruising...grower will get roughly 25cents a kilo. supermarket sells at ..2dollars a kilo

This must be for canned pumpkin pie filling. There's no way a squash that beat up would sell in an American supermarket even if it was allowed on the shelves. It also probably wouldn't store well enough to make it to the supermarket after that beating.
