Since Pose I have become fascinated with the ball culture scene. I wish there were more vids from the 1980's when it was at its zenith.

For me, it was Streetstar that got me into watching Vogue videos. Around the 3:00 mark, there's a dancer in a purple sweater must've inspired Leiomy. I love it.

So y’all think this is where Madonna got her inspiration from for her song Vogue? Or are they inspired by Madonna? The dance seems very similar in her video.
@AllThingsAnime24 жыл бұрын
Energy Guru What you are witnessing in the video is what inspired Madonna’s “vogue” song. Not the other way around. You can’t take ballroom away from us. Us LGBTQIA+ blacks and Latinos INVENTED vogue. Learn your lesson.

Tyler Starr if you don’t have the mental capacity to have conversations that helps someone to become a little more knowledgeable... And if you’re not helping enlighten then it’s probably best you keep your mouth closed and let some one with class and civility take charge. I simply asked some question so that i can learn lessons and to help my research.l and i was very respectful about it. where did anyone try to take ballroom away from anybody? You’re probably not even into ballroom. So please move around because you don’t know how to inform anyone of anything, and you don’t know anything so let the real ones step forward.

Why are you telling people to forget "Pose" when it brought Voguing back to the spotlight, introduced many new people to it & really let the people know what the culture was about. Pose is an absolute masterpiece of a television show & I highly recommend for everyone to watch it even if they aren't necessarily into this type of stuff, it can turn you & sooner or later you find yourself vogueing 💃🏻💅🏼Ryan Murphy is a genius & he picks his actors/actresses well to play the parts & they all did an OUTSTANDING job along with the people who chose such a beautiful soundtrack for the show! It REALLY showed how these times were & brought to light many important issues so Pose should be anything but forgotten 🗿
