When you get older, less is more. I’m 53 and I’m more into natural soft glam look. Don’t really care much about all those loud colors looking like going to a circus 🎪 the reason they pile more make up is usually for photo shoots. Lighting is very powerful that can washout the model very easily. Details are important when being photographed. It’s the same with theater. More make up for onstage performance because of the strong and powerful lights on the actors performing on stage. In reality, wear what we wear as we naturally do everyday. We are not on stage nor in front the camera. Less is more and It’s called real life.

When she said that she saw Gaga, The Weeknd and Hadid and was trying to take a picture with them but the cameras were not near her, so she stood there patiently until pictures were taken… i felt something uncomfortable inside me. I think because she is not as young as other models, the media is leaving her “behind” and that idea kinds of made me mad. She is such a sweetheart, at least for what I saw in here, that I can’t stand the idea of them not appreciating her enough.

Sadly, that’s how the industry is. I left the fashion industry years ago to focus on covering red carpet. People in the fashion industry are very cut throat and brutal. They don’t value icons like her, Tyra, Iman, and Naomi to name a few. The industry is full of sharks and they only care about “it” factor. They don’t care about legends of our timeless beauty icons. That’s the reality of it nowadays unfortunately.

I wish I was thinking like you. I find no excitement about getting gray and worse, white. It's for sure, just a process in life but there's nothing great for me about obviously getting and looking older. I guess at some point and post menopause, you just don't care anymore. But before, it's not such of a great news

Im not sure what it has to do with menopause as I’m not there yet, but I do think you become more self assured with age. I’m vain in many ways, I tinted my brows and lashes today, I wear makeup and use tretinoin/sunscreen daily. But ageing will still happen to me, the same as it will happen to everyone who is lucky enough to live past their youth. I lost 3 friends in one year before they were 40, and another one this year. They never had the chance to get grey hair and wrinkles.

As a woman in my early sixties, she's inspired me to start doing my makeup again. I use to do my hair and makeup every day but as my skin has aged and wrinkles and creases showed up, I quit doing my make up. I felt the foundation settled in my lines and wrinkles, aging me more. That is probably just my imagination and insecurities. And she looks fabulous!!

I feel the same way. I only wear Bare Minerals mineral powder, blush, and lipstick. I curl my lashes but don’t really like the feeling of mascara anymore and with my lids drooping, it ends up smearing. I can’t stand the loom and feeling of foundation and I too think that it makes me look older by making the lines stand out more.
