He reveals the answer in his descriptions of the objects- Go back to the statue. He describes it as introverted, introspective, severe, narcissistic, maudlin. He repeatedly uses the word severe to describe things. He says he knew he wants to live in stone. He can express things so eloquently not because it’s inherently deep or complex or difficult, but because he lives his truth and has an honest relationship with himself and the things he owns is merely an extension of himself. If we all lived out truth, no matter how different or weird or pseudo intellectual it might seem, we would be able to be as eloquent

There is a bit of a sorrowful vibe …maybe related to his ability to see beauty and meaning in so many objects while most of the world can only find significance in momentary, fleeting satisfaction. His attention to history, craftsmanship, texture, philosophy and creative design is why Rick Owens has such charisma.
