Rough guess on the large bullets you found. Either .303 British, or .30-06, both common rounds for military and hunting from 1940's to current for the .30-06. The .303 started losing favor in the 70's I think

It is a 303 inch (military) Britain converted to the self loading rifle (SLR) in 1969 -1971 chambered in 7.62mm NATO) I trained with the SLR in basic (1971/72) I was an Ammunition in the British Army from 1974 to 1990 and burnt millions of .303 inch.

I was trying to keep it short and sweet. The U.S. military started to switch to 7.62nato/.308 in the 50's the later dates I mentioned was more for hunting. I also wasn't sure how many American arms it any were sent to Australia during ww2 which is why I mentioned the .30-06. always good to hear history from other places though, thanks for the info.

If you were going the vanlife route, you could literally be camped full time at your chosen area to work and smash out the hours. If you had a reasonable solar-battery rigged on your vehicle, the capacity to live and enjoy the time and space is definitely a real possibility and quite attractive (in my opinion!)

I'm probably 3 months deep I would say. Living in a Ute and looking for gold is basically impossible for me but I'm at least trying to make that the bare minimum. I've made some friends along the way which has been nicer than the gold.

To hell with the haters, let them live in fear their entire life's, just do what you do and I'll guarantee you have a dedicated viewer in South Alabama!
@geradkavanagh8240 Жыл бұрын
To actually make it work you would have to be on a paying spot with backup when that runs dry. So, while you are working you need to leave some time to prospect further afield. So basically 1 out of every 5 days is a hit or miss day while prospecting. Since gold is roughly $au97/gram today, A 5day work week (with 1 day subtracted for prospecting) would require realistically a minimum of 1 gram every day to just make ends meet. This doesn't cover other costs like fuel, vehicle rego etc.

Selling drugs definitely puts more money in your pocket for a lot less hard work. 🤔😉 Too bad that is not a legal avenue in almost every part of the world. 😢 From a nursing perspective, my access to those kinds of drugs is definitely controlled extremely well. My personal Tylenol at home won't sell either.... 😁 Thank you so much for sharing your theoretical test with us! It was a great idea! One I met That had made very good at it Terry Toope lived in a 2 room plywood shack with plastic windows with an out house and lived in town in a small house in the winter . He prospected for 25 years before striking it big . It can be done but are you going to be the lucky one out of 200. People that have not learned it as one would learn a trade your odds are very slim to none . It though is one hell of an experience
