I am sick of so-called ABBA fans saying one singer is "better" than the other. As the song says "We need one another like boxers in the ring". Both were, and are, unique. By all means have your preferences but that does not necessarily mean it is true.

The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors") Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid "Don't shut me down" it's another surprise from ABBA A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice. Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us. and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music") Thank for your fantastic reaction and for Your respect to ABBA music now we have the new album Voyage after almost 40 years! and see in next ABBA vídeo GOD bless You my best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina South América

There's a video online of a guy comparing the recent stuff to the 70s/80s WRT whether or not she's autotuned or pitch corrected in the recent releases. His conclusion was basically that her voice is still so accurate it's difficult to tell in some cases, but SOME of it is pitch corrected, apparently in a way it looks to be deliberate for people that are looking for it!

I wish I had come upon your review much earlier, your thoughts and sentiments are near identical to mine. Don't Shut Me Down, it took but three listens and I fell hard that it all round so recaptures ABBA's former sound, ohhhhh those harmonies and instrumentals are glorious! I Still Have Faith in You was a very slow burn, some fans tend to be so easily offended, but yes, I wasn't expecting the heavy accent, as well the lyrics didn't grab me as the vast majority of ABBA's old recordings certainly do. Honestly, took months before listening to it again ... BUT, finally it all had clicked when truly considering it as THEIR song, so touching! Fast forward to now, I admire the song, though it's still not on my play list, Don't Shut Me Down I still can't get out of my head, I'm either listening to or singing it about the house and I'm a 57 year old male. Yep, I grew up with ABBA! 😘

Finally, someone who did not stop every few seconds or at all. What a pleasant surprise to see a reaction after the full song. It is brilliant. They are both brilliant. I am sorry the sentiment of I Still Have Faith in You did not lift it to the heights it deserves. That song is literally their story. That alone makes it brilliant. And Frida nails it as does Agnetha in the harmonies. And yes it is true, this song is more of a dance song but The Winner Takes it All was not a dance song. And you have an accent too. As far as this song it is true, it is classic ABBA dance song.

Love the song!. And yes, I'm fired up. The song gets better from a slow ballad in the start to the instrumentation starts to form the music and in the chorus is the highlight, it's upbeat mode gets you in the hopeful mood no matter how you are feeling. The music has a good soul through its lyrics. Great reaction too!

Wow! Frida's classically trained voice is always pitch perfect and sublime. No wonder Benny and Björn called her the voice of ABBA.
@mountain262 Жыл бұрын
I think you got the girls mixed up. Agnetha is the lead on this, not Ani-frid. I can find no reference to her (Frida) being " classically trained". Benny and Bjorn calling her "the voice of ABBA " is a complete falsehood. If you are able, can you please cite your reference for the last statement ( live interview, talk show ect,) I am curious where you heard that.
