I am sorry to hear about your pain and i hope you find out why. I just listen to your covers, your passion was mesmiration and i will return looking for new ones. I can not belive that a singer/reacter whit that love for old soulful music not have followed Angelina Jordan for years. Since you are a women who i guess is emotinal and kind i think you will get a dilema reacting to the younger Angelina. How do you react to a child of 7/8 year singing summertime, do react to the child or to the singer? Normaly you would react to the talent of the child but what do you do when the child is by many seen as the best jazz singer in the world ?

And the heart, and the passion you hear in this performance... she brings that in every performance she does. You have many, many more songs to hear from her. And because Angelina is new to you and maybe some of your followers, I like to leave this little bio so that you can learn a little more about her background, and her kind soul.... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

If you love jazz and blues you have found your singer, they call her the new queen of jazz. She started early whit Whitney Housten ( 1 1/2 year old ) but since she was 3 years old jazz have been her pasion. She sing her songs in a way that give even old norwegian men tears in they eays ( kids/men in Norway never cry at least not when it can be seen ).

Angelina's magical voice has healing properties. The more you listen, the better you feel. Listening to her has lowered my blood pressure, taken away my headaches..No other young female singer has her ability to do that. I have tried Diana (she made things worse) Grace, Daneliya, Roberta. Thx for that insighthful reaction. That's a well done description of Angelina. She knows exactly what she can do and what is appropriate for the essence of a song. She's not using belting to force your attention as other singers do, only really when it is fitting to the song. Her arrangements are often complex but very subtle. Each time I am listening I'm discovering new details. Her music really is a colorful world full of contrasts. Each song different in style, tempo, even voice. When some singers are like a mechanic that has only the tools on his belt, she has a full warehouse at her disposal. Best wishes for you and get better soon!

It's hard to react to an interpretation like this, you can only be impressed by the fact that Angelina at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation. For me she is perhaps the most multifaceted and talented singer there is at the moment, if you think she is just turned 14 years. If you continue in her discovery, and I guarantee you that you have material galore, you will be constantly surprised and excited, because Angelina has that ability, with her slowed song and her soft voice, to go digging into the soul to make you move, which is really rare and she does it every time, since she had 6 years. Angelina is not only what you saw in this perfect performance, she is much more, even very different, but everything she does is at a superlative level ❤️ If you want to understand how talented she is from birth, look at her 4 performances of Norway's Got Talent in 2014, those performances made during a few months are the her first public appearances, but you can already see what her was capable of and how her skills had improved in that limited period of time. Thank you for discovering reaction my favourite singer, Angelina re-arranged the song especially for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelinafying". The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her rightt was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and last her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. I have followed Angelina's career since I saw that first video on KZbin and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. Think about it an 18 month child singing Whitney Houston. Scrolling through KZbin at 2 years old looking for Jazz. Telling her Mother at 3 she wants to sing for Simon Cowell. Sorry to hear about your back and health issues. I have experience with both and hope you can get past them soon. I also hope to hear (many!) more Angelina reactions from you. You are a delight, and in my opinion you are the most relatable vocal coach reactor I’ve come across (I’ve encountered dozens of reactors many of whom are vocal coaches. Too often listening to them feels like a symposium for ENT (ear nose and throat) specialists that was crashed by a a bunch of rowdy respirologists. Yours strike a perfect balance between the technical and the artistic side and do so in language my little brain can process. You probably don’t want to be inundated with requests now so I’ll hold off until you are ready to be back full time. Now Imma go check out your covers. Take good care of yourself.

Thanks to the internet we get to see all of these amazing kids, and then other children see them and then there will be even more, It is wonderful. First of all i like to say i'm sorry you're in pain and hope it gets better. For Angelina, she won Norway Got Talent when she was 7 and from there she has 120+ songs covers on youtube and has 3 originals, her fan base is very big as i am one of them . she doesn't wear shoes on stage due to a promise she made to another child less fortunate [Big Heart], she wrote a book about it and became first child to publish a book. she is now 14 years old, when on AGT she sang Bohemian Rhapsody, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Someone You Loved, she was only 13..she is amazing. Excellent reaction & analysis of Angelina Jordan. She has been my favorite vocal artist, EVER, since I discovered her 3 years ago. She is a jazz genius, but she can cover most any style or genre of music. She emotes better than any singer I've heard, giving me goosebumps every time & often makes me cry, sometimes because the song is sad, but sometimes because it's just so beautiful. She does all her own arrangements & she has the uncanny ability to take an old classic song & rearrange it to be her own version, often better than the original,IMO. She got the Golden Buzzer for this performance which sent her directly to the finals. There she did the same thing to Elton John's classic song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, she "killed" it, made it her own, mesmerized the audience & judges & got a standing ovation. Hello - Welcome to Angelina's world. It is great to hear a jazz/blues artist react to Angelina. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance. Your comment about her use of the forceful high note in the middle of the song is an example of her choices when she arranges a song. That note she hit went perfectly with the lyrics "...I wish I'd never been born at all..." to express the desperation in the story at that point. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (120+ covers and original songs) and you will see! She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You felt that in this performance for sure (and thank you for that)! She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by herself on piano, or in front of a 100 piece military band. You described Angelina's style perfectly! She can belt as the next one, but she makes great decisions not to overdo any song she does. And she has been making her arrangements since she was 8 eight years old. I'm really sorry about the health problems you're going through!
