PUPPY! We are getting our aussi mini-doodle memorial day weekend. I would LOVE if you could do a video (or series) similar to a "What to expect the first year" book. It's a popular post-pregnancy book that tells you what to expect each month of development for your baby, and I think that type of format would really resonate with a lot of us!

Thanks for taking the time to create these videos. Idk if you’ll get to my question but, I have a golden doodle 5 month old I’ve been doing well training him he easily picks up all commands (sit, lay, shake. Up, down, let go, cage etc.) He doesn’t use the bathroom in my apartment at all which is awesome. I’ve started training him on grass pad since i got him so he understands potty, and will go on the grass pad #1. He’ll also go on the pee pad #2 if supervised. The issue and question is when I’m not around or watching him he doesn’t practice these behaviors. Hell pee on my patio everywhere but his grass pad and he’ll poop everywhere but the peepad. Any tips, solutions, or reasons for this behavior???

My 13-week-old has no issue sleeping at night or during the day in his crate, but as soon as I leave the room, he starts crying. I have been moving my keys around, going in and out the front door, leaving for 10-15 minutes, and addressing him later as I walk back in. IDK what else to do. I feed him right next to his crate; we do puppy push up and the latest tricks in the crate. I have mind games we do in the crate. I’m rescuing a puppy in about two weeks. I’m planning to stay home from Wednesday to Monday. But I do going to work full time at least 8 hours sometime. Hiring help is not really an option for my lifestyle, but I want to do the right thing for the puppy. You mentioned not to leave anything with the puppy during he/she is alone what other options we have for them beside leaving a bed and water. Is it realistic to leave water for a puppy if you cannot take out .? I live in NYC in a small apartment the puppy won’t be able to go out until all the vaccines are completed and the space is limited where I can puppy prepared for her to be. I feel bad for leaving her alone but also I’m rescuing from Puerto Rico where she was left when she was just a week old in a beach. She is a survivor and I want for her to have a lovely life. I will appreciate any feedback you’re able to provide for pet owners in big cities, working full time and small apartment. Thanks

Jayson take a treat say the command I like “mount up” then Toss the treat to the back of the crate. Then tell them to stay (you must teach them to stay) do this a few times a day. Before you know it-you won’t have a problem with your dog going on the crate. When I grab my keys or jacket my dog runs to the crate. And I reward her. Good luck.

Ok I'm just going to say it. If you have a life or hobbies, a full time job, a dog is not for you. Raising a dog is insanely hard, expensive, and time consuming. Your dog will not sleep
@jasonpetersen112711 ай бұрын
i don’t agree but i think it’s imperative that you find a breed that fits into your life. many small breeds do not need nor want lots of exercise & are content being home bodies & lap dogs. puppies of any breed have lots of energy to expel so if you have a full time job definitely look into someone who can come play with your puppy & take them out for a few hours during work time, but i know plenty of people with full time jobs & hobbies who have plenty of time for their pets & make sure that the time spent apart is not boring or full of nothing for the dog to do. if you were to change this & say a big dog is not for you, i’d agree. large dogs require a lot more time patience & energy in general. but i don’t think anybody with a busy schedule shouldn’t have a dog. they just should be a lot more careful & cautious about the kind of dog they bring home
