I remember when I first heard Mark Hamill--Luke Skywalker himself--was a voice-over actor. I hadn't known because... I hadn't seen him. Then I saw the behind-the-scenes documentary of BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM... and it revealed none other than Mark Hamill was the iconic world-renowned voice of none other than The Joker. I was in shock. Then I found out that's where the sonovabitch has been all this time. When I was a little kid, I always wondered what had ever happened to one Mark Hamill. I didn't see him. Oh, I saw him in the first three STAR WARS films... and all the STAR WARS paraphernalia that came after it. But... where was he? Han Solo was in movies all the time. Then I saw him on the live-action TV show THE FLASH. I was ecstatic. I couldn't believe it. There I was, this little boy exclaiming, "It's Luke Skywalker! It's Luke Skywalker!" And... as I got older, I found out he had a very long storied successful career doing voices in cartoons. It was good to know... STAR WARS didn't kill him as an actor. Danke, GenerationWest for putting this up. Danke on behalf of all of us Hamill fans... I know Mark himself is grateful you did, too...

I used to think that he was somewhat of a tragic example of an actor, beacuse he's really known for playing only 2 characters. Is he still underused in live-action? Sure, but nevertheless now I see that a guy who portrayed figures as iconic as Luke Skywalker and Joker and was able to keep himself afloat for 40 years thanks to so many voiceover roles is a one lucky bastard.

I think it’s down to doing Joker a lot and smoking. I can doing those laughs for years could not have been kind to his vocal chords. But hey, bright side is that it really fits a lotta the villain roles he plays.
