6:02 I think it needs to be stated that over the years, Ariana Grande has often mimicked other singers with incredible skill. So putting her and Cynthia Erivo together, I can see Ariana maybe not even noticing that she's mimicking Cynthia's phrasing, enunciation, and vibrato giving us an almost stereo effect.

Brother, as a singer myself I loved this breakdown. I got to see this movie on 11/8 at the DGA Theater and lemme tell you, the singing is gonna absolutely slay you dead. You've got a massive smile on your face listening to Cynthia, and this is just a couple of passages in a featurette. Trust me; you are *not* not prepared for how good this movie is. As for Ariana Grande: she did, in fact, work with a classical vocal coach for months, and it really shows. Her high arpeggio Bmin7 in "No One Mourns the Wicked" is so effortless and easy, with a lovely vibrato on top. These women were the perfect choice for these two roles. I'm super happy that Universal went with singers who can act, instead of trying to make actors sing. Disney keeps failing at this and wondering why people don't like their soundtracks anymore.

I just watched it today and you are absolutely right! I’ve never seen Wicked and I honestly wasn’t too concerned about seeing it, but something told me I needed to see it as soon as I could. Maaannn I was glued to that screen the entire time just laughing and feeling so many feelings! The music was EVERYTHING! Cynthia Erivo will make the rocks cry with her singing! Don’t get me wrong, everyone is phenomenal, literally top tier! Ariana’s voice is just chefs kiss! But that’s just how breathtaking Cynthia’s singing is! By the end I couldn’t stop crying for the longest time! I’m definitely going to see it again in the theater and I can’t wait to see part 2 next year!

@@Chief that trailer in particular has heavy edit 'cause there are several different songs mashed up in one single arrangement, so they had to work on the vocals to blend everything... but when we hear clips of the individual songs with their own properly arrangements, the vocals are intact with almost no post production... I believe the movie will be a pleasant surprise, specially with all the love and care they're putting in this project
