Hearing Henk sing all these diffrent styles is so much fun. I am 44 and Henk is one of the singers that has just been there all my life, but always did opera/musical. He has always seemed to me as a very layed back and friendly guy in interviews etc. It might be fun to watch an old performance of him as the Phantom of the Opera in Dutch in 1993. "Henk Poort & Joke de Kruijf (Phantom) 1993" He also toured a while with 2 other baritons from his generation under the name the 3 baritons. Check out; "Innamorato - De 3 Baritons "

I little comment on english. Quite a few smaller european countries does not only teach english early in school(which as you pointed out is british), but also have subtitles for movies insted of dubing. This means that many movies will be in american english, becouse hollywood. So, you can usually find people with a multitude of influences in their accents. Depending how strict the teachers were on it, how much their own dialects shine trough and which american movies they wachted growing up. Great recation.

Rob Halford of Judas Priest is 68, Eric Adams of Manowar is 65, Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden is 61, James Hetfield of Metallica is 56, Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian is 53 and Michael Kiske of Helloween is 51. It's funny, you react to the individual performances before watching the show, which absolutely makes sense for making these reaction videos, where you are focused on the performance itself and want the initial reaction to be a genuine first watch. Meanwhile, as just a watcher and fan of the show, I see these reaction videos in my youtube feed and I deliberately avoid them until after I've had a chance to watch it (with Denise's wonderful subtitles, since I don't speak Dutch), so that I can enjoy the performances in context and form my own opinions without them being colored by those of others. There's no real point to this comment, it's just an observation. Anyway, I was also really impressed with Henk's country performance here. If you haven't seen it yet, well, they're all good, but I was once again really impressed with Emma this week.

A bit late to the game, but just to explain; yes, we do from a young age learn British English. But most of our pronunciation we learn from watching TV-programs that usually aren't over-dubbed in Dutch, so we hear a lot of foreign languages, primary American English as most tv-programs are from the states. So we're highly exposed to all kinds of American dialects
