I agree completely with your comments. How often can a singer be regarded as perfect? Lara fabian has a perfect voice, perfect control, perfect vibrato, the timbre is perfect......I could go on...did I leave out the fact that she also is beeyootifull !!

I love her. He voice is equal or better than Barbara Streisand and she can hold a power note as long as Dimash! When I did sing, she has the voice I wish I had. Please do more of her. Thank you, I love how you explain what the singers are doing to sound the way they do,

that first iterations of .... "just a touch of yours and I FLYYYYYYYY-YYY-yyyy-YYY"....was one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard ... it was like she gave sound to a butterflies flight in a summer breeze..... she is beyond amazing .... and leave it to Lara to bring tears to my eyes out of sheer amazement of her gift....

My aunt is in music field. She lived in France back in 1997 and she gave me Laras album "Pure" for my birthday saying that I will never forget that voice. And she was right. My all time favorite. Seing her live was out of this world. She always said that she is here to present her songs not herself and I love that. Always minimalism on stage: no dancers, no acrobatics, no flashy lights or anything that distracts from her voice. P.S. Today is her 50 birthday so happy birthday to her

Vocalise (Asculta la voce) is great from her. It's a master class of voice control, breathing, resonance and prove that emotions can be transmited without words. Plus that is recorded few years ago so you can hear how her voice sound this days. Another great-recent one- is Je T'aime (live Microphone)- recorded last year in a smooth jazzy version

I love her because she is a very reserved singer most of the time, who shows the beauty her voice in tandem with the meaning of the song. Although I enjoy vocal acrobatics as much as the next person, there is something said for the subtle mastery and intense passion that Lara Fabian evokes consistently in nearly all of her performances. She claims to be a songwriter with a voice and I think that suits her perfectly.

I agree completely. (But I have to admit I am never a fan of vocal acrobatics.) Everything in service of the song = Fabian is a master.

BRAVO! Lara Fabian is one of my favorite singers of all time. Thanks again Valarie for showcasing this amazing talent! I echo everything you say about Lara. Her incredible voice is complemented by her keen ability to become the song and take the audience on a special journey in space and time. If I may make a comparison.....she is the "Hillary Hahn" (a virtuoso violinist from Baltimore) of contemporary female singers. I must add that although Julie Andrews will always be my "number one", Lara Fabian is just as sensational and talented IMO. In summary, Lara holds a very special place in my musical heart and soul. So much so, I downloaded her 1999 album titled "Lara Fabian" (contains Adagio, You're Not From Here, etc...) from iTunes and listen to this masterpiece on my daily one-hour nature walks around a peaceful wooded lake. I have probably listened to Lara's 1999 album over 100 times in the past six months! Her music is always fresh and alive. She inhabits that rarefied space in the pantheon of the all-time greats, especially with regard to female singers. Lara has set the benchmark well into the 21st century. Love ya' Lara!

One of the best reactions to Lara Fabian. And I watch a lot of them. In my opinion, you understand Lara correctly. She is not sooo well known, because she never made good mainstream music, I think. I heard that she tried - but I know none of these songs. I see the best vocalists on our planet, going by without making a BIG impact, because they don't have the right writers/interests/stupidities to penetrate the stream of main-music-interest of our population, maybe also not the right contracts.

Thank you, Valerie, you made my day! I love the way you describe Lara's voice and her amazing abilities. She always makes me feel like I'm soaring, especially songs like this. And the melodies she writes are the most beautiful I have ever heard, complex but never showy. I'm not a fan of all vocal gymnastics, it's just showing off and doesn't serve the song, imo. Lara's choices ALWAYS serve the song. Please do Vocalise (mistakenly called Ascolta La Voce) from the Mademoiselle Zhivago concert in 2010. Dimash added lyrics and called it Know. You should definitely hear the original. It's absolutely incredible. Btw, the videos with the highest views aren't always the best quality. You might try playing just a few seconds to make sure you have the best version before you get started. Thank you again!
