He just screams,goes as hard as possible,but to keep with voice without damaging his vocal chords (too much at least) he does a lot. Direct quote from him back on discord: "how to keep my voice,,,,, warm up befre the show, practice the week of the show, rest at night(important) , no partys(Gin or whisky allowed in moderation on recording sessions and show days, 2-4 beers are allowed if i don't want gin ) Vocal rest for 3 hours night of the show (important), lots of sleep, leamon and ginger tea with chaopped ginger in it and half a squeeazed lemon with fisherman's friend losingers, in the morning and at sound check on show days, a shot of honey before recording "

Granted, I'm not a vocal coach, but I've done my fair share of harsh vocals and metal screaming (both in studio and live), but it feels like he is pushing/forcing his voice really hard. It will be interesting to see if his voice can sustain this level of intensity for the next few years.

Sorry I don’t know if you’ve done a Michael Jackson video before as this is my first time watching. But at 5:50 I thought of him as he started doing this around his BAD album era. Seems like he uses some kind of fry? In some live videos of his old band when he was first learning, his screams sounded like pitchless fry. Perhaps over time he learned to blend belted high notes with that distortion?

My voice is a bit on the higher side,(but not super high, just high enough to be bearable lol) but when I lower voice, not like I’m trying to sound super manly with a voice that has “bass” like parts of it. So I just lower it to the point when I’m growling and talking at the same time, you know when you like “growl” and it feels like something is kinda moving in your throat? Yeah I do that but while talking and I sound like my voice is being distorted like Scarlxrds, but is it the same thing? Edit: I forgot to mention that doing it doesn’t hurt at all, I’ve never tried making my voice higher or like I’m yelling like Scarlxrd, EVER.

I honestly think screaming has to have a bit of talent with it fs fs, I’ve been using my voice for about a year and a half now since scar came out, at first it comes out at whispers, you really half to train your voice to have this intensity, my voice is at an equal level of scars I can scream everyone of his vocals at this point, It doesn’t take long at all to learn the vocals and limiting yourself to not screw with your vocal course, using diaphragm so your not bloching your voice, or slamming your vocals. Idk if ima quick learner or if it’s purely I’m a metal head I’ve heard it for so long that I can resonate the same sounds due to expierence and practice
