Thanx Lauren, we fans have noticed their vocal maturity as well. It's apparent with pretty much all of them and Matt must be included with that statement. His voice is still in training to get it lower, and it is wonderfully deep, but it's also very strong. Their rendition of O holy Night ( please react to it if you already haven't) shows just how rich and powerful his voice is. And Kirstie is pregnant with baby #2!!

As a voice teacher, you won't find a better singer to nerd out over than Haley Reinhart. She does it all, to perfection, and is such a pleasure (and so much fun) to listen to. I recommend her performances with Postmodern Jukebox; check out "Don't Speak" and "Seven Nation Army." They did a cover of "Creep" that's gotten the most attention, with 127 million views (?!), which is certainly worth a listen, but tbh everything they've done is terrific.

Think you meant the other way around. Scott has now come into his rasp, which you can hear on last year's Christmas album. He definitely can sing more rock influenced songs than before.

I liked voctave version but I love this one more. To me, theres every other acapella group and then there's ptx way up above! Lol no one else has mitch. Find me anyone who has anything similar to his voice. But I do have a recommendation. Do you know Eva Cassidy? Many vocalists and voice teachers have heard of her as she was an amazing singer. Mitch has a quality that does remind me of her. Not in voice but more in the precise placement, emotional resonance (with both not uncommon to release the tears) and chameleon ability to defy being typecast in one genre because they can do many. They're true masters of their craft. Spoiler alert, Eva has passed at 33 of cancer and didn't become known until after her death. Like ptx she did upgrades. Lol check her out! 😊

Good reaction. Scott and Avi (and Matt) switch out on bass when needed. I haven't heard Kevin sing bass at all.

Kevin doesn't sing bass. She got Kevin mixed up with Avi. Avi (and later Matt) sing primary bass and Scott sings bass when one of them is singing lead.

Saying Avi left because he wanted to do his solo stuff isn't correct. He left because he was struggling to keep up and his mother was sick. Yes he's doing solo music now, but PTX would never have held him back from that. Look at Scott, he didn't leave the group, but still has a solo album and a Grami nomination for a single he recently released..
