Thank you for this! This is exactly the kind of example I was looking for, being absolutely brand new at this.

This advice was fabulous! Thanks. I think I may make a basic demo myself.

I really appreciate you posting this. You just validated an idea I had . I am just starting to promote myself independantly, and I thought about doing an audio introduction but I hadn't heard of anyone doing this. To me this makes perfect sense, combining with audio intro and at same time pointing out to the client/customer this is a sample of the audio quality you will produce from a home studio. Thank you.

Brilliant! There are WAY too many videos and opinions on this topic. This seems to make the most sense to me. I absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing.

I really appreciate this advice. I had a demo professionally produced by a sound engineer buddy with a booth, a couple years ago. I recently moved across the country and converted my closet into a booth, and have had anxiety with misrepresenting the sound I can produce. Putting it all upfront makes sense.

Only demo what you can replicate. Otherwise you will burn bridges just when they form

Legendary. I’m doing this ASAP. Thank you so much dude. Do you think that directors/casting directors would appreciate this type of upfront demo less, equally, or more than a traditional demo?
@CrownStagVoiceover3 жыл бұрын
I’ve found that if they like your sound and recording quality they will still ask you for a custom read. Most people casting ask for a custom read before a final booking.

@@CrownStagVoiceover that’s some useful insight! Do you have any tips of your own on getting more people to actually listen to the demo? Or is it usually pretty standard? Thank you in advance, I’m sure someone down the line will appreciate your input as well.

The people I try to target are creative directors, producers or production people working at media, marketing or production companies

Thanks Neil this really helps! Quick question are you saying basic studio setup as in no processing at all just raw audio no noise removal or anything?
@CrownStagVoiceover3 жыл бұрын
No no, still clean it up but you don’t need to overly process it. And again it’s just about showing your voice off rather than doing a read for a client you may never have had
