After the sober and tragic pieces they've covered this year, this ridiculous version of Drunken Sailors was just what we needed. I love everything that Voiceplay does, but this one just proves that they can do silly, or their special brand of dumb, perfectly! Thanx for reacting to this one. José Rosario Jr. was with them in "His the colours", "My Mother told me", a number of "Minis", and I'm pretty sure there should be another one that I don't remember (duh!). This is one of the funniest among their videos, at least for me. Lots of "their brand of dumb", as they call it, and some touches, like that "...And we should make him listening to Voiceplay while we do it!", to which the drunken sailor responds with a "no, not that" gesture, and then José says "You... are a monster!", and the drunken sailor confirm with another hand gesture. As if the real monstrosity were to have to listen to Voiceplay, and not having his heart carved out with a wooden spoon! 😅 BTW, that line, "I'll carve his heart out!" while holding a spoon, is a reference to an Alan Rickman's line in "Robin Hood" 😁😅. The drunken sailor is "Bucky", I don't remember his full name, sorry. He's been a member of the group when they were still called 4:2:5, before changing their name to Voiceplay. He appeared in a couple recent "Minis" as well. 🙂 Loved both the video and your reaction and comments. Oh, as far as I know the song has its lyrics, but Voiceplay (meaning Geoff) added a bridge to them. 🙂 See you next time!

I wouldn't call this one about pirates, Sailors certainly. It is more connected to the whaling ships of the past. Think Wellerman, which they've done as a short recently. This has been given a very British feel though the drum beat is that the Irish bodhran or handdrum. Geoff added the bridge, which he's been a lot lately. But yes those are the words of the song. Except for the bridege that Geoff wrote, and the bit about the spoon.

I don't remember if you did Hoist The Colors - this is a re-visit of the same characters, but each a bit more intense. Reminds me of the apocalypse series where VP members are playing the same guy in each performance, but... more developed. So much fun! Great reaction, thanks.

late late comment. There are some usual verses, and people also add thier own. They did clean this one up a bit, as usually I hear "shave his bollocks with a rusty razor". One memerable group changed it to "shave his bollocks with an epilady"! YIKES

This is an awesome sequel to Hoist the Colors! The acting is superb, Geoff's low notes continue to blow me out of the water and Lane's expressions are epic, and then you have Ceasar twerking in the background lol.
