Lauren made this song famous on tiktok singing it in her apartment stairwell. She is known as the Stairwell Siren. Voiceplay saw it and asked her to collaborate. This is the result. Elizabeth of The Charismatif Voice does some voiceovers. Characters... Geoff - Graveyard Caretaker Silas Crump. He's holding the lantern. Technically, Lauren is Constance Hatchaway, a constant widower who marries men only to behead them the next night with her axe because, according to the comics, "I just really like weddings!" The Corpse Bride is an entirely different property and one I'm not sure Disney even owns.

I was never at Disney World after 2006. 1970s only. The original Bride, referred to by fans as the "Corpse Bride", is a ghostly character from the popular Disneyland attraction The Haunted Mansion. She is the original incarnation of the Bride character. History In the early days of the attraction, the Bride was featured in the attic alongside the Hatbox Ghost. During that time, the story of the attic was most likely that the Hatbox Ghost was the groom of the Bride. However, she decapitated him for unknown reasons and hid his head in a hatbox. She presumably did this again to at least two other men, whose ghosts also became trapped in the hatboxes their heads were hidden in. Even though it is unknown how the Bride died, it is presumed that she was killed by another man that she tried to seduce and kill. Her ghost returned to the mansion to haunt the attic, surrounded by the angry ghosts of her past murdered husbands. The Bride's model then changed over the years, changing from a corpse-like model with realistic glowing eyes to a later model that had a black, faceless figure and two large, round eyes. Claims also exist of a version that appeared as a faceless model with slanted eyes, though its time in the attraction and where it places in the Bride's model timeline are up for debate. Though some claim that each model of the Bride is a different character, this is unknown and unconfirmed. As the first versions of the Bride before the 1990s had no name or confirmed story, they are speculated to be the same character. In the 1990s, the Bride was replaced with another, with this version having a clear face and being portrayed as a tragic heroine. This version of the Bride later had another model. In 2006, the Bride was replaced once again with the clearly villainous Constance Hatchaway, which is the current Bride model. However, Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland's mansions kept the heroic Bride.

Even after watching Layne's makeup being applied, I cannot see his face underneath it. Voiceplay had a different Halloween number planned but had to put it on the shelf for next year. The featured artist they had for it has a huge conflict at the moment, Layne came to the rescue with this one. They are so much fun to watch and to hear, absolutely my favorite acapella group! You're right , this is a mash up of Ding Dong the song with the characters and setting of The Haunted Manion. It's Cesar in the crystal ball. His name is said as it is in Julius Cesar. There are some back up vocals from The Charismatic Voice too. :) The original of this song is very haunting and computer generated. After Lauten covered in it her stairwell VP conteacted her to join them for this video. Laine flew out to where she was to film her on green screen to add her in. Have you an old one of theirs: Once Upon A Dream? Probably the most spooky one they've done.

It was so nice to finally see reactors that really got the setting and costuming. It’s been so frustrating watching them try to guess. Of course, Layne was In charge of this one, even though it would have been Geoff’s turn. But Layne managed to pull it together, even though the hurricane took out his power for several days while he should have been completing the editing. Don’t worry about confusing Layne and Geoff in that makeup. They already had the makeup on when they opened the patron feed to the shoot, and I couldn’t tell them apart at first. It wasn’t until Kathy got upset about Geoff swinging that lantern with an open flame that I knew for sure. By the way, Layne has been incredibly busy. The next episode of Villains Lair comes out this week. It features the Queen and Maleficent verbally sparring through song. (You might want to turn on the captions. It goes by fast and you won’t want to miss a word!)

Yeah, a lot of reactors miss the meanings behind a lot of VoicePlay videos and it's a bit annoying. These two are always on-the-ball. I've been following them for years before they even started doing VoicePlay reactions for a reason; just a coincidence they overlap into that part of my world... and glad they do.

That opening phrase by Lauren Paley with the heavy reverb on her voice is IMO an homage to her Stairwell Siren tiktok and YT videos, since her apartment stairwell where she films them has a LOT of echoes, just to make the sound even spookier!

Lauren Paley has a version of this in the stairwell defiantly worth the listen ( and her Tick Toc version) "Hide and Seek" is a song produced by Ho-ong-i, and performed by VOCALOID SeeU. (in Korean) the English version was done in 2014. this is based on a japanese horor story of summoning a demon to posess a body to play hide and seek .. if they find you they get your body It is sung from the perspective of a girl possessed by a malevolent entity who is playing a deadly game of hide-and-seek with a young boy victim. the Voiceplay team is set in the haunted mansion ride characters.. behind geoff is the busts for the ghosts. So they set it into the haunted mansion. I still recommend listing to the full version of Lauren Paley in the stairwell (she is nicknamed the Stairwell Siren) . She has found the perfect stairwell for an outstanding natural echo effect

I have been waiting for you to react to this because I was pretty sure you would absolutely love it. You caught on right away that it was the haunted mansion and based on the ride which has mystified to a lot of people. You even spotted the busts on the bookshelf. As another viewer commented this is based on a vocaloid recording. I recommend going out and looking at the original - the animation is really creepy. I’m sure you would like it. A couple of fun little details I’ve noticed after watching it for way too many times: Lauren: her demented eyes turn red just before the banshee. She is semitransparent- you can see embers through her. Her expression when she asks if “you are in the closet” 😱. Layne’s teeth are his- just lots of black food color 😨 When he throws his head back to laugh, the inside of his mouth is all black. Don’t know if that was edited or if he has been applying the food color concoction so often Eli is mad Alexander NITROkoff on a keg of TNT/nitroglycerin. It took me a long time to catch the pun. Cesar is singing in his head voice😂 Elizabeth Zharoff (Charismatic Voice) provided background eerie tones.

Cesar is in the globe, Geoff looks a lot like the chimney sweep in Mary Poppins, Layne is supposed to be under all that makeup but I'm not sure that character isn't really a ghost. Love your kitty!

Hah, Millennials. If you think horror is damped-down for kids *now* holy cow, you should've seen what it was like a few decades ago. When the Goosebumps series of books first came out in the nineties, it was pushing pretty hard against the limits of what people would allow their kids to read. In the eighties, Scooby Doo was about as spooky as it got for kids, unless you got into the fantasy genre (Narnia, Prydain, etc.) or went to the adult section of the library (and you couldn't check anything out there unless a parent went with you, because a children's library card could only be used for children's books back then).

@@HellaDepraved So leave most of it out. My (current) favorites, Brad & Lex, justshow the channel name for a couple of seconds, then say "Alright. Tonight we're going to listen to "XXX" performing "YYY". Let's get into it". Same every time but short and sweet. What I particularly dislike are those who say "Before you listen, remember to subscribe". Right. I'll watch the video now, but in passing also recommend Pentatonix "Bohemian Rhapsody" (acapella cover), Home Free "The Butts Remix" and Lynyrd Skynyrd "Free Bird".
