This is such an incredibly sad yet beautiful song. This is one of my favorite versions of it. I did think Geoff's bass was just a little too strong - could be just my headphones, etc. If you would like to hear my favorite version of this song, check out the version by a guy named Kenton Chen. He really gets involved in the lyrics - he told me the pain he felt was real. It makes me cry every time. Good to see you, Michael! Great reaction!

I feel it's a great shame that you should feel the necessity of defending yourself for your opinions. That is exactly what reactions are for, and why we view reactors. Never apologize for telling how you percieve a performance. You being honest is what I want from a reactor' s point of view , not a yes- man to rabid fans. You've always explained properly in my view ,why you are of that opinion. I'm a huge VP fan and I personally don't always agree with your assessment of a song, but I wouldn't ever dream of complaining of you for having that opinion. If I couldn't accept the fact that different people can view things differently, I would not be visiting your channel. I really like to hear why and how things can be percieved differently. Sometimes I can see the different point and it might make me change my view on something, sometimes it only enhances my own take. It s amazing harmony. Strange we have to accept we can t MAKE people feel what we feel, even if it s love. Like the gorgeous house that should be able to be shared if the love they sing about was "shared" but it s not. Solo, single love is still love even if it s not reciprocated. Out of the Voiceplay reactors I watch, you are very underrated. A lot of the reactors I watch, even the experts talk about the workings of each of the VP songs. Even when reactors have some dislikes (like Mortius), they still enjoy the content or even help improve the group. While I do think Voiceplay is perfect (in my eyes), I do understand that not everything they do is pitch perfect. Some of their songs I use to not like (but got use to and enjoy them), or don't like at all, as those songs are not their best work. There are some (common-sense) fans and commenters that do speak out on their opinions. That being said, I'm not gonna berate people if they don't like the group (i.e. the Pentatonix, Home Free acapella debates) or certain songs of theirs, I'll respect their opinions and move on with my day. I think there should be valid and justified critisms and critiques, but not petty complaints.

I am sorry that you need to keep addressing those who only see the world as "For" or "Against". I have been listening to VoicePlay for years (since their 4:2:Five days) If VoicePlay appealed to everyone 100% of the time then we wouldn't listen to anything else (and there wouldn't be room for other artists). Being exposed to new things and the opinions of others expands your palate. I am here to listen to new and old songs from familiar and unfamiliar artists and hear your opinion of them. (Insert plug here for NPR Tiny desk concerts for another channel to get a nice broad exposure.) Now I am going to listen to a Bulgarian Women's Choir... Keep it up!

I know this from Bonnie Raitt whose version means a lot to me; having said that, this was amazing. I am so pleased with every a cappella group that comes along. I sing, and with a cappella, you had better know your part, and you better not mess it up, as there are no instruments to hide behind. This version was moving, and I feel that I have been bathed in the voices . . .magical! A note to Dramasyde; what I hear from you is critiquing, not criticism. Don't let the haters affect you; you have too much going for you. My understanding is that KZbin comments can get bloodthirsty. In my opinion, one-sided as it may be is that people make negative noise because they can't make positive noise, and they are jealous. They are like ants at a picnic; flick the b.s.away... Sorry that you have had some people trying to jump down your throat for daring to voice an honest opinion. Hey, ever since I fell down the VP and Geoff rabbit hole about a year ago, I have really done a lot of watching reaction videos to their work, because I just love seeing people get blown away by their talent like the way I still feel when I watch and listen to them. I've learned that some people just dislike their theatricality in general, or dislike how they will highlight the different members, or just in general think they are far inferior to their particular favorite acapella group, and always give them a poor review. And since I don't particularly like bashing my head against an immovable object, I don't feel like making myself upset by trying to watch them. On the other hand, it's also a waste of my time to watch someone who is just going to stare silently at the video as it plays and then just say, "Well, that was really good, like, comment and subscribe!". There are some reactors that I really like who can really dig into the actual nuts and bolts of the arrangement, vocal techniques, artistic direction, etc., which is great. But I can even enjoy someone who can just say on a gut level or what they liked or disliked about any particular song. But although I might be disappointed when a particular favorite song of mine leaves a reactor disappointed or indifferent, I'm not going to berate him or her about it. I have to remember that there are some VP songs that other people have loved that I have been underwhelmed with. And sometimes, it's simply a matter of not liking the song to begin with, so no matter how wonderfully VP performs it, it is never going to be a favorite for me. Stay true to yourself, and keep saying what you think!

One thing I like about Bonnie's version is the country influence you can hear in it. Voiceplay took that out, and it just doesn't hit the same. I think Bonnie's voice just fit the song so well. Can it be done a capella? Yes. Here's a thought that I think would be phenomenal... Bonnie singing it, with Voiceplay, or better yet Home Free with their country influence, singing backup instead of instruments.
