You don't have to try and force yourself to like something you don't actually like. I do have to say though that I find it refreshing that you will actually say when you don't like something. All people have preferences, and it's okay to express those preferences. Good luck on your journey to find a version you actually like. I don't really know any others besides ones already suggested to you.

There is one song in particular just makes my skin crawl. lol Many people love it. I hope VP never does it. lol I'd have a hard time. I appreciate the vocals in this, they did a spectacular job with it.

You can't like everything... That's why we all have different tastes. I personally don't mind this version. I would have liked to hear more "Voiceplay" but I think John has a brilliant voice. I believe he has a Broadway background.... I also think this is such an old classic that unless you were bought up with it in the background, it would be difficult to come to grips with... I vaguely remember a version by Robson and Green....... You're here to react and that's what you've done...

It would seem everything by Voiceplay is awful to you... Maybe it's because they aren't home free?. If you don't like them. Don't listen to them. There is no need to be derogatory about them

I have loved the song since childhood when it first came out, a long time ago now, I have to say that I'm not keen on the amount of vocal gymnstics some put into it, such as here. I prefer the original to be honest. But there it is.

Well, I have to agree with you. I don't know who this guest(?) singer is. GEOFF CASTALLUCCI should have carried this one to have the warmer tone/feel.

I don't hate hate the song, but it's not my favorite, by any stretch. I think if they did it with just the four of them and Eli took the lead, it would have been better. John Pinto Jr has an amazing voice, but he doesn't do it for me. Suggestion - don't torture yourself. Find something that you like in their list. They did it for you with Prince, with Queen, and with Eleanor Rigby. The song they are doing next, should be a few days, is a song that has always made me cringe, literally. But, it's Voiceplay and I love it, saw it on Patreon. Just so ya know, I've watched every reaction you've done to Voiceplay several times!

I feel ya! Gosh I wish I knew why you don’t like this song, though. Is it too sappy? Too schmaltzy? Too much “vocal gymnastics”? Too slow? Not enough swing or soul? Didn’t like the scene in Ghost? I first heard this song when I was a kid in the late 50’s/early 60’s. I loved it. It was by John Gary; an old fashioned Irish Tenor crooner. While it’s still my go-to version, even he stretches the notes out of shape a little too much for my taste. Then in ‘65, the Righteous Brothers released what has become the standard by which all versions since have been modeled. I never liked it because there’s too much of that note-stretchy stuff in it, which kind of ruined it for me. That said, their live rendition IS stunning. I just wish, boring though it might be, someone would simply sing it with just the straight melody with harmony (the song does lend itself well for harmonies). I’m hoping you find a version you like. It’s a great song that seems like someone should be able to knock out of the park. If you find one, please share it with me!

Dont torture yourself! I like Voiceplay, but this arrangement didnt do it for me. I like the Austin Brown solo version with his guitarist. BTW, I must have missed the ballroom dance video....

There are SO many other sings on the VP playlist for you to try. Please try Superstition, Bang, Go the Distance, Halo, Carry on Wayward Son, ... Just stop torturing yourself over that one song. Life's too short for that.

I really don’t know, it’s something sonically that is off putting to me, maybe it’s the lyrics. It sound like a guy is singing to a girl that don’t even know his first name.

@@L8bloomer_Audi I get that, especially if you do not know the meaning behind the song, Elvis’s version is very good, but i this a lot of people associate the song with the movie Ghost with Demi Moore, and Patrick Swayze

Nah, this one doesn't work for me, and I like Voice Play. Ughhh I would tell you to try Austin Brown's version, his version is my favorite but think you just hate the song 😐

That was an awful version! If it was the first time hearing the song, it would have made me not like it at all. I love the version by the Righteous Brothers & Home Free. I don't think you should force yourself to listen to this song by any other artists. Just put it to bed & move on.
