It never fails to amaze and perplex me how people will take all the time to learn these long, complex songs note for note and STILL miss simple details. Case in point: The riff at 0:43 uses the open A string; it's not all fretted notes. And make no mistake--that IS important for the character of the riff. And am I crazy for thinking that you CAN HEAR that on the studio recording?! Open strings sound different! I don't see how some guitar players don't pick up on that stuff. (Also: Petrucci plays it with the open A string live. Search and ye shall find.) Ahhhh, this takes me back to the good ol' days of 2009, when "A Nightmare to Remember" had just come out and I LITERALLY COULD NOT FIND A SINGLE VIDEO of anyone playing the main riff correctly. Every single player was getting the same two notes wrong. Amazing. Truly amazing.

This reminded me how good the song and Awake album is. Great job on the tune and the tone.

Love how your arm spazzes out on the fast passages. Cause that's what the solo actually sounds like. I mean that in the best way possible. I applaud you.

Man that solo always gives me chills, excellent job dude. You can really hear Alex Lifeson’s influence on Petrucci in the solo too.

7:58 That was weird. Did you pre-recorder your solo or was that a latency problem? Because it looks like you were not playing it live. Great cover nevertheless!

Good afternoon. What is the best way to get the AX8 sound reference? I've seen that we can link it straight online or loop and turn on the Amp return. But how do you know what his sound really is? It has no headphone output. The best way would be to connect it to an audio interface and listen for the headset interface? Would this be the pure sound of the AX8?

Since you guys have played with all major modelers/profilers and a JP-2C which one do you guys prefer to sound like the real 2C? I'm looking for a silent playing option that won't take too much space. If I had the money/space I would probably get the amp and a torpedo or some sort of reactive loadbox.

What monitors did you used? Just bought but sounds nothing like this.

+azasel patches are exactly what you could hear, rhythm guitars are double tracked, we tried our tones on different headphones and monitors
